    Default Coronado or POFQ?

    Hello all,

I would like some help with our resort decision and would welcome your opinions. 2008 is our big family trip (extended family, etc) and they have never stayed on site before. Also - I will be pregnant for this trip. (I was also pregnant for our 06 trip, so I'm familiar with that) What we're really looking for next year is *comfort* at a moderate. Do you think Coronado would be more comfortable than French Quarter? Originally we had decided Coronado would be the way to go.... (see my signature below!), but after finding out about my being pregnant - I am nervous that the resort might be tons and tons of walking...... or something? We've stayed at FQ before and it was very quiet (even on 4th of July weekend!) and peaceful - relatively small so getting around was easy..... Any thoughts about Coronado as far as comfort levels? Opinions? thanks!

When we've stayed at Coronado, we've been fortunate enough to be very close to the main building and didn't have to do much walking around the resort at all.

Additionally, there is a bus that you can take from the further away buildings back to the main building. Bus stops are scattered throughout the resort so your transportation to the parks shouldn't be too far away either.

I've never stayed at the French Quarter so can't comment on how it compares.

As you can see from my signature we love POR. We've never stayed on the FQ side, however we've visited it a zillion times. It's much, much smaller and my guess is, it would be easier on keeping a large group together. My sister stayed at CS years ago, and she didn't like it as much as POR, because of the excessive walking. Have fun choosing !!

P.S. Plus, if you like breakfast you can go over to the Riverside Boatwrights restaruant. They have the best breakfast of any Disney eatery!!

We LOVE Coronado Springs and highly recommend staying there. I wouldn't worry about walking too much within the resort as there are extended golf cart type shuttles that take you from El Centro (the main building) to the various buildings throughout the resort. We love the laid back, comfortable atmosphere at Coronado and the fact that they do host quite a few conventions makes for an empty pool and busses. In fact we never even had to stand on a bus on the way back from a park. Whatever you decide have a great trip and congrats on your pregnancy. With any luck I'll be pregnant with our 4th on our next trip!!!

While I haven't stayed at Cornado Springs (maybe next time!) I like the fact that there are many bus stops. You should (with the help of our very helpful Intercotees) be able to request a certain building/ area to minimize your walking. While I loved POFQ I think that it is fun to try something new. Congrats on your pregnancy!!!
