"must See For Boys 6&8"
What are some of the MUST SEE/DO for 2 boys 6&8 years old. We are staying for 12 nights, at POR mid November/07, so lots of time to do extra things that you wouldn't do if trying to see a park in 1 day.

When are you going? Where are you staying?
You could do the water parks, mini golf, wide world of sports (or whatever it is called) for some things not in the parks. If they like video games they might like Disney Quest.
Would you be willing to go off property? There are a lot of other things off property as well.
Make sure to do a character meal or two.
Give them lots of time to run around on Tom Sawyers Island. I never did it, but some of my DH favorite memories are from being about 6 or 8 and running around there with his cousins.
You could always rent a boat or do some of the water stuff on the lakes. Check out some of the outdoor activities at FW. They have horse stables, a petting zoo. At night they have a Chip 'n' Dale show with a bonfire and a movie afterwards. It is cute and fun.
As far as the parks??? We always "try" to do everything. I would take your time so you can enjoy it all. We try to see a parade and the fireworks. We have never seen Fantasmic, but they say it is great.
Last Trip: April 2015 CBR
Next Trip: Sept 2015 Boardwalk

For sure I would say not to miss the Jedi training academy, even if they don't get picked to be in the show it is very cool even to watch it (even as an adult).
Disney Quest would be fun if they like video games.
Tom Sawyer Island is another good one.
I would think everything for that age group is going to blow their minds...

There's also a pirate tutorial near POTC.
We'll be checking out both that and the Jedi training for a nine-year-old lass in our group in December.
-
My DS is 5 ( a little younger than your crew) but he enjoys Disney Quest as well as the Fantastic Plastic Lab in Innoventions.....the place that has the robot race and then you can build one (for FREE) and take it home.
Also, maybe a pirate cruise at one of the resorts.
Depending on exactly when you are going in mid Nov. the holiday decorations might be up and running and that is something DS enjoys seeing......all the holiday displays (esp the train exhibits at the Y&BC, as well as the gingerbread house at the GF, and let's not forget the Osborne Lights!).
The Jedi Academy and the Pirate Tutorial are also awesome ideas.
The train exhibit in Germany always gets us for at least 30 mintues!!
One final thing that DS REALLY enjoys and he'll make sure we find the time to do is seeing Miyuki the candy maker in the Japan pavilion! She really is awesome to watch and if you are lucky she'll pick you for one of her creations!!
Have a wonderful time with your kids!!

6 to 8 are great years
Mine are older now, but the things they really liked were...
1) Buzz Lightyear, Pirates, heck most rides.
2) Character meals. Can't stress this enough. Photo opportunities galore.
3) My boys liked the autograph books which each character they met signed. When the boys weren't old enough to read we would look for stickers of each character to match the autograph and add them.
4) Have a meal at the Whispering Canyon in the Wilderness Lodge. They have an interactive show that kids love. Ask for ketchup. You'll see.
5) One year we rented water boats from the Grand Floridian. One adult and kid to a boat.
6) Try to ride front of the monorail.
7) Fantasmic (could be a little late for 6yo.)
8) Buy some pins and let the kids trade with cast members.
9) Buy a squished penny collection book and let the kids collect the squished pennys from around WDW. At 51 cents a pop there the cheapest souvenir you're going to find by far.
10) Legoland at Downtown Disney. Of course their going to want to buy something.
You can't go wrong. Walt built this place so parents and kids could have fun together.
Y, BECAUSE WE LIKE YOU:)

Some things previous posters have not mentioned:
1. The robot races over at Innoventions. You build a free plastic robot to take home and then you design a computerised one and race it against other people. It's cool.
2. Both AK and Epcot have contortionists, and my boys love to watch them. Jammitors at Epcot also, oh and try to see the PUSH talking trash can over at MK near Cosmic Rays. It is a riot to see it talking to the little ones and they don't even know what to think.
3. Pull the rope going down the well at the Exit to the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. That will provide much entertainment for boys that age.
The only life I can think of that would be worse than being a special needs mom is not being one...

your getting a lot of very good advise, so I'll just add....with the amount of days your doing I would take it slow and steady. Don't try to do too much all at once...if you do you'll get burned out. You have plenty of time to see and do almost everything a young boy would want to do. Have fun !!!!

I happen to agree with everything "Hooked On Mickey" said! Wonderful ideas & we've done everything mentioned except the boat rentals, which we thought we might do last year & didn't end up finding the time!
DS's are now 10 & 11 & their first they were 4 & 6. We're not so much into autographs now, but we were then! The Character Connection at Epcot is great for short lines & seeing many characters in one place. My DS's love DTD & going in all the shops, but fav is The Lego store. We spend a lot of time there, inside & out, seeing everything made of Lego & building stuff outside! We did DQ last trip & had a great time!
Fav family ride is probably Buzz Lightyear, it's so much fun challenging each other. We're not big on TS meals, but we loved WCC, but we also like Cosmic Rays in the MK & the Cantina de San Angel at Epcot & the Sci Fi Dine In Theatre in MGM is a must do every trip!
I hope you have a wonderful trip & I'm sure you will make memories to last a lifetime!
Shari

How nice that you don't have to worry about trying to book ADRs for Cinderella's Royal breakfast!
Everyone covered most of the essentials here, but don't forget "It's tough to be a bug" in the Tree of Life at AK!!

If you're planning on spending some time at Downtown Disney Marketplace and your boys are into Star Wars, I'd recommend the "Build Your Own Lightsaber" kiosk inside the "Once Upon a Toy" store.
My kids spent about an hour making their own light sabers. When you take the light saber to the cash register to pay for it, they power it up (give you batteries) and you also get a cool Jedi or Sith trading pin (included in the price). FUN!
