“High School Musical 2: School’s Out!” Update

The show debuted on 9/23/07, as scheduled. The new version of the mobile show reportedly contains songs and routines from both the first and second films.

The Walt Disney World Resort has published the following update in their current "What's Next" Media Packet:

“High School Musical 2: School’s Out!” (2007) -- With new songs and a rollicking new spirit, the Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical 2” comes to life on the streets of Disney-MGM Studios. It is interactive fun as high-energy performers on a traveling stage invite all ages to catch Wildcat fever by singing and dancing. “High School Musical 2: School’s Out!” is scheduled to debut Sept. 23, replacing “High School Musical Pep Rally.”

This is the first hard date that has been published in regard to the debut of the show.

I'm embarrassed to say (as a 41 year old Father) that I find the hokey "High School Musical Movies" strangely mesmorizing.
I'll have to act like I don't want to participate at first, but...I'm in.

Too funny magicman. My DH (44) sings and dances along too! When the original show was at MK (before the huge wave of popularity) we caught it and there was a mid 40's man and probable 18-20 y/o young man (we assumed father/son) just having a blast singing and dancing to the tunes

Yes!!! I have been watching the boards all week waiting for some kind of new like this. We'll be at MGM on the 23rd, so I guess we'll be seeing it on its first day debut! I wonder if the times will be the same as they were for HSM 1 Pep Rally?

Anyway, I would have thought they would incorporate some songs from HSM 2 in with the HSM show, not completely replace it. We were not nearly as taken with the 2nd as the original.

I thought the same thing. I guess they want to increase more sales for HSM 2. They are pushing all the new stuff like HSM 2, Cory and Suite LIfe on the Return to Halloweentown DVD too, and it hasn't even been out that long!

They started this show earlier in DL because of the premier of the movie being held there. We saw it last month. It was kind of fun. The kids liked it alot. I don't have much to compare it to, since I never saw the first one.

Thought I'd bump this with my opinion...its MUCH better than the first show! GREAT GREAT show, I wish it would stick around for awhie (but of course it'll be updated for the third movie...) but I love it!
