April 2008 and Grad Nites?

We're starting some early planning for a vacation in April 2008. Easter is early next year, so we hope a lot of the Spring Break crowds will be gone by then! We're still waiting for the 2008 rate seasons to come out, but the original dates we were hoping for were April 17 - 25. However, this overlaps with one of the Grad Nite weekends.

What effects to the Grad Nites have on the parks? I know Magic Kingdom closes early those nights. Do the other parks become excessively crowded?

Do the Grad Nite crowds usually stay in the resort/parks through the weekend?

How do the hotels seem during these times? We usually stay at one of the monorail hotels. We're not expecting to see lots of Grad Nite kids in those, but just curious.

Anyone going this year during the Grad Nite times, I would love to hear your experiences!

It's good to see another nut starting to plan for April 2008! We too are going then but will be arriving on the 25th. As for the Grad Nights, we were in WDW during the same period in 2005. That year Easter was also in late March. The grad nights did not affect us at all. We simply didn't go to that park on a Grad night. The only way we knew it was going on was because we could hear the concerts going on from our Grand Floridian room. All in all, that is a GREAT time to go to WDW. We loved it. The weather is perfect, the crowds are very manageable and the Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot is always going on.
Despite Easter being early that year, you will find that some regions of the country will hold off their Spring Break until mid-late April anyway. When we were there in '05, New England had Spring Break so there were a lot of Red Sox fans walking around But it had a minimal impact on crowds. We can't wait until April 2008 !!

The Grad Nite groups generally do not stay in Disney hotels. The Groups are mainly from the Florida area and they arrive around 7 pm when the park is closed of them, then they return home around 4 am after Grad Nite is over, if they are from out of state then they usually stay in a hotel about half way to where they are going or are on a charter bus. But no they do not have an effect on the hotels.

I am going to Grad Night next year and I know this year our school is getting there around 5pm, going to PI until 7pm or 8pm then heading over to MK until 3am or 4am. This year our date is next Friday the 20th. They haven't said when we are doing ours next year.

For which I'm so glad I'm only sceduled until 1730 that night. So your going to Grad Night next year huh David?
