Question Dolphins In Depth Tour @ Epcot ? Has anyone done this? ...

I read that you have to be 13 and up and thought it might be something special for our 15 year old DD to do with her Uncle, who is joining us for a few days of our WDW trip. I'm curious if anyone here can give me some feedback on it? Is there a lot of dolphin time? Did you find it worth the $150/pp? Thanks so much

DH and I did the Dolphins in Depth several years ago, and we absolutely loved it.

We paid less because they had an AmEx discount at the time (or something like that), but it still would have been worth it at $150 pp!

We had about 30-35 minutes of hands-on dolphin interaction including petting, instructing them to do tricks, inspecting their fins, etc. There were two dolphins (Bob and Renier...sadly Bob died while in the care of the Baltimore Aquarium on loan), and they definitely had different personalities.

Before the hands-on part, we were taken "backstage" to see a video about their care, talked to their keepers, and got to see the dolphins in their little "holding pens" up close. They were free to come and go, but they loved to stay back with us and watch us. I remember Bob really, really checked each and every one of us out.

We then put on our wet suits and hit the aquarium. We had 15 minutes or so with each dolphin. We got really nice videos, tee shirts and pins at the end of the tour.

It's definitely something I would consider doing again. We had a blast, and learned a lot in the process!

    Talking Definitely worth it

My wife and I did this just last year on our honeymoon. We enjoyed it so much that we are doing it again this year. As previously stated by SurferStitch, it is $150 (of which all proceeds go to help wildlife), and you get about a half hour of time in the water. The only thing that I believe that has changed is that we did not get a video—but, they do give you a photo of yourself with a dolphin though. It is a lot of fun and very educational, and well worth it.
