    Cool November cruises cheaper??

I was thinking maybe Nov 2008 would be a nice time to cruise, when the kids are out of school for Thanksgiving. Anyone who's gone at this time, is it overly crowded? Does it cost less to cruise in Nov? I like the idea of 4 nights at sea and 3 on land. How is determined where you will stay at a disney resort?

November is a funny month... earlier in the month is "Jersey Week" (when schools close in New Jersey for a state-wide teachers' conference) and that drives up costs some. Magical Journeys had some great discounts on the 7-night cruise and might still have them available.

Later in the month, you have Thanksgiving which really drives costs up. We went the week prior to Thanksgiving on a 3 night cruise and were back in Florida the Sunday kicking off Thanksgiving week.

So if you want to sail in November and not pay top dollar, keep those dates in mind.

As for doing the land/sea package, where you stay at WDW is determined by what level cabin you reserve for the cruise.

You might consider booking the land portion separately from the cruise. If you book with Disney, your week begins and ends on a Thursday which is a bit unusual. It might work out better for you to leave on the 4 night cruise (which departs on Sundays), return to Disney on Thursday and be there until Sunday... just a thought!

That's the key phrase right there. When the kids are out of school, that's when the cruise prices go up. You'll find the best bargains in the months of September, October and early May.

As Elenita explained, your choice of resort is restricted by the stateroom category you book. Here's the detail:

    Stateroom category 1, 2 & 3 - Grand Floridian
    Stateroom catgeory 4, 5, 6 & 7 - Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, Polynesian, Swan & Dolphin
    Stateroom category 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 - Port Orleans Riverside & French Quarter, Carribean Beach
