Location is good, but the lack of a theme and Disney feel kills it for me. I've looked at them before as the price can be good, but just can't pull the trigger.
-
Just booked Art of Animation for July 2013. I gotta be out of my mind. We're spending a week in Disneyland, then flying to Orlando for 10 nights at WDW.
-
Not sure what building 8 is, but I would guess 11 is either Tahiti or Rapa Nui. Although I don't see why. All rooms were just redone a few years back.
-
I always bring this up on another board. It's ridiculous. There are stores and restaurants built and open from the ground up in the real world finished faster than it takes Disney to fix up the...
-
I agree about the hot tubs and gym. I've never had any problems with the lights. And while walking up to Ohana to get a table is frustrating, it's pretty simple to get a reservation for. Just make...

To redo the lobby of the Polynesian would pretty much entail closing the building down, which isn't realistic. The waterfall is beautiful and relaxing to me. It's not as if Disney "forgot about it"....
-
I'd ask for an upper room floor facing the Magic Kingdom. You'll get mostly trees, but you can see the top of the castle, the Contemporary and the fireworks.

We stayed Club Level back in 2008 at WL. First CL stay at a Disney Resort (and last). For us, it was a waste of money. Unless you're going to spend a lot of time at the resort and eat meals there...

True.
The Polynesian is a much more deluxe resort experience.
-
I'd go with (and have gone with) the Poly. The CR is too business like for my vacation wants. Every time we eat at the CR, I feel like I'm on a business trip with my company. It's too sterile and...
-
Stupid that Disney doesn't give that to the rooms anymore. We used to love watching it at night before bed. I just downloaded all the cartoons, and we watch that on a DVD player we hook up to the TV...
-
Most resorts don't have it anymore. Depends if they have a newer TV or not. It's channel 96, and all the resorts have it on the TV in the lobby.
-
How does it remind you of New England? It's themed after lodges of the pacific northwest. I'm from New England, and I don't know of any place that looks like the Wilderness Lodge.
-
If you booked a Magic Kingdom View, I'd request Tahiti as well.
Though if you want some advice, save the money and request a room in Tokelau. Best location of any building. We were in Tahiti, and...
-
I never noticed big crowds on the Poly beaches, but this would annoy me as well.
-
For Garden view, Tokelau. For lagoon view, Tahiti.
Tokelau, Tahiti, and Rapa Nui rooms are all 476 sq ft and have balconies or patios. All other rooms are 415 sq ft and 2nd floor rooms have no...

I'll be odd man out and say I didn't care much for Stormalong Bay. I don't like the ocean, and the sand bottom reminds me of swimming in the ocean. It's very big, and I was always worried about...
-
Depends on which parks you plan to visit the most.
As for the resorts, I much prefer Wilderness Lodge.
-
I'd write a letter just to vent, but don't expect anything. Disney, as much we all love it, could care less about any of us.
-
For a Garden View room, I'd go for Tokelau. Along with Tahiti and Rapa Nui, the rooms in those buildings are about 60 sq ft larger than the other rooms.
-
I have a theme park view booked for the Poly as well, and requested 3rd floor Tahiti.
Disney charges more for Theme Park View than it does for Lagoon View, based on having an unobstructed view of...
-
WL has always been my favorite resort, but my January stay was less than magical.
-Upon arrival, no help with luggage.
-We were given a room with 1 king sized bed, when we asked for 2 queens....
-
The biggest rooms are located in Tahiti, Tokelau and Rap Nui. They are all 476 sq ft as opposed to 415 sq ft. Also, all rooms in these buildings have balconies or patios.
Tokelau is my favorite....

We're doing the first 8 nights in a Garden View Room at the Poly, and the second 8 nights in a Lagoon View Room at the GF. The packing while a pain, isn't that much of an issue. My wife is really...

1 person - Not hard at all.
5 people, including 3 kids with a week's worth of stuff accumulated - Pain in the neck.
