One
thing that our members know is that, here at INTERCOT, we’re a family. When
a member hits a rough spot, they often come to the INTERCOT Discussion
Boards seeking advice and a sprinkling of Pixie Dust. The INTERCOT Pixie Dust
Chain of support is legendary and has helped comfort many a member over the
years.
Now, we have a member who needs more Pixie Dust than INTERCOT has ever had
to muster before.
Little
Sam Wood (He just turned 2), the son of INTERCOT member Melanie Loughry (screen name:
harlowandthemermaid) is fighting T-cell ALL leukemia. While Sam is a tough
little guy, the going has been a bit rough for him lately and now he and his
Mom need INTERCOT’s help.
Sam is in line for a bone marrow transplant and Mel, her family and friends
are organizing a benefit to help cover post-transplant expenses. Mel has
only been able to work sporadically as of late, because Sam has been in and
out of the hospital getting radiation treatments in preparation for his
transplant. As we are sure you can imagine, the financial burden is almost
as immense as the emotional one on Sam’s family, and we here at INTERCOT
want to help.
INTERCOT has joined forces with Mel and her family to develop the “INTERCOT
- Pixie Dust for Sam” program. INTERCOT has set up a special PayPal account
where our members can send contributions to help Mel and Sam through this
incredibly difficult time. Now thru June 15th, we’re asking people to step up and give all they
can. Mel and Sam really need our help and we know the INTERCOT Pixie Dust
Chain will not let her down.
As a thank you for members that do contribute, INTERCOT has obtained a
limited amount of special silicone wristbands. They’re gold (the official
color of children’s cancer awareness) and bear the phrase “INTERCOT.COM
– PIXIE DUST FOR SAM”.

Any person who donates
$5.00 to Sam’s fund will receive one of these important wristbands. Not only will it let people
know you care, it will also help focus awareness on the fight for children with
cancer. 100% of all profits will go to benefit Sam and his family.
Even In the unlikely event no profit is
made, INTERCOT will donate a minimum of $2.50 from the sale of EACH AND EVERY wristband.
Bracelets will begin shipping on or before mid June - however
it's best to buy now, as they will be shipped out on a first ordered, first
received basis.
Also, if you choose to
give but don't care to receive a bracelet, or have already ordered one and
want to donate more, we have provided a "Cash Donation Only" button as well.
We’ve ordered just 500 of these special wristbands, but we’d like to order
many, many more. Please … give all you can. Mel and Sam need your help.
Let’s all prove that, together, we can make a difference in the fight
against this terrible disease.
