Some of my favourite moments from all of the fabulous Disneyworld vacations I have had, involve Street Performers. They are at all of the parks, and spending the time to watch a performance will provide such wonderful memories for years to come.

At the Magic Kingdom you might be greeted by the Mayor, or serenaded by the Dapper Dans, or made an honorary “suffragette” by the Sister Suffregettes (as I was!) on Main Street. You might encounter PUSH the talking garbage bin over in Tomorrowland, or you might catch a Pirate tutorial over in Adventureland.

At Epcot, there are the incredible Chinese acrobats and the incredible acrobats in France. The number of times my very active children have ground to halt to watch these performers. At Christmastime, there are fabulous storytellers at each of the countries in World Showcase, all native to the pavilion they are in; Father Christmas in the United Kingdom or Pere Noel in France. We have such magnificent memories of listening to all of the different traditions, and of conversations with the performers afterwards (especially the young storyteller in Morocco back in 2006, who made my son feel very special when he wrote his name in Arabic to give to his teacher).

At Animal Kingdom, you might find DeVine on the walkway between Harambe and Asia, or play the drums with some African drummers in Harambe. DeVine can be very difficult to see, but the drummers are so prominent in their bright clothes!

Our very favourite Street Performers are found at the Studios, and are also known as the “Citizens of Hollywood”. Alberto Dante and Tallulah Fruiti are among our favorites, and one time managed to get my camera shy husband and tongue tied older son to participate in a skit (and they both had so much fun!). We have also had so much fun with the Public Works crew along Hollywood Blvd.

The performances are never the same thing twice, so don’t be afraid to pay attention and participate!
