    Default Kids meals & adults

This may have been asked before so I'll apologize ahead of time.

DH & I are heading to WDW for our anniversary/second honeymoon next year and unfortunately for me, DH is a very picky eater.

Are adults allowed to order the kids meals at the different eateries (counter & table)? Thanks!

Counter service - always yes. But, there are lots of basic choices, so most likey he'll be fine (I'm a picky eater too!)

At TS meals, quite often they will work with you (ie. take the sauce off, change a side), but not every place will let you order a kids meal. My worst experience was at the Brown Derby, where I actually closed the menu and said "I guess I'll just watch them eat" before he'd make any changes. But, even there, the meal in the end was wonderful.

Hollywood Brown Derby has always been very picky about changing there stuff. My little sister was in that inbetween faze were the kids meal weren't enough but the adult meals were to much so we were trying to just order her the adults meals and they refused to let us she had to have the kids meal which she didnt' even want. It was bad and she ended up eating off our plates. The food at Hollywood Brown Derby is always AMAZING dont get me wrong. But most places do work with you and make accomadations.

    Default Age for adult

I was looking at the meal plans and it gives adult price then child's price 3-9 yrs. does that mean a 10 year old is considered an adult?

Yes. And with the meal plan you have less flexibility to jump menus. If you are a light eater, slip the meal plan (unless its free) and pay oop.

    Default Meal plan

We were considering not doing the meal plan and paying oop but the cost is so high. Cinderella's palace was listed as 40.00 per adult plate. We would have 4 adults due to the age requirement and 3 kids. That's pretty pricey!

it is. But it takes 2 of your meal credits doesn't it? And how much does that work out to be? I'm not sure, just thinking out loud, so to speak..

How do you figure out how many meal credits to apply per restraunt? Is there a chart somewhere?

I am not a big eater (I prefer 5 snacks/small meals versus 3 big ones), especially when walking around and being active all day at Disney. We're getting our annual passes tomorrow and I plan to try to order off the kids menu at the sit down restaurants as much as possible the next 365 days.

The way I see it is, you either let me order off the kids meal, or we'll just split a meal. I don't see what the big deal/difference is anyway. We'll rarely order two meals regardless, so no cost difference or hassle on our part.

I'll come back with reports on each restaurant we try it at. Up first, SciFi Drive In
