We are staying Thursday - Sunday in May after we get off the Dream. Currently we are booked into POFQ but I'd like to be closer to the 2 parks we plan to visit. We'll get off the ship on the Thursday and get to the resort later in the day. We plan to have a pool day on the Thursday and then visit Epcot and MK on the Friday and Saturday before flying home. Based upon this what resorts would you recommend?

I'd love to stay on the monorail but am having sticker shock. It is your Memorial Day weekend so I know that it will be busier and more expensive than other times of the year.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

the only way to really be closer is to actually stay at a resort next to one of them. the boardwalk/beach/dolphin/swan will give you epcot and then you can monorail it to mk.

    just a thought.

Your best option would be to stay at the Polynesian. You could monorail or boat to MK, and walk to the TTC for a quick monorail to Epcot.

The next best option would be to stay at an Epcot resort, which would put you close to Epcot, but still a bus ride away from MK.

If those options don't work for you then I'd just pick a resort that fits your budget and one whose theme appeals to you. Your not going to be extremely close to both parks at any of the other resorts.

WL would be a cheaper option and would be a boat ride to MK, and a bus ride to Epcot. If I didn't want to pay for a monorail or Epcot resort that's what I would go with.

I suggest you go with the best budget option, especially after having your wallet drained on the cruise! Although I am a die hard monorail resort fan, my last 2 trips were at PORS & POFQ and the bus service was not that bad for MK & Epcot. Note that I have encountered tremedous wait times on the monorail when the track has too much traffic or there is a delay in the transfer to/from the Epcot line. You may be talking about a difference of 15 - 20 minutes, but is that worth several hundred dollars?
