Just before the park opens, the train pulls into the Main Street Station. Many of the characters are on the train. A family is chosen from the guests to help open the park. They go through a little ceremony and then the park is opened and folks are allowed to go into the park. It's pretty cute!

If you have any doubts and have never seen this, you HAVE to go. Yes, it is campy and goofy, but there is an amazin energy in the crowd and performers. It is the BEST way to start any day at the MK!

What's so campy or goofy about it? I think it's very well done and a fun way to start the day.
Too many trips to keep track of now! Vacation WDW twice a year so any questions ask freely ☺️
At the end of the opening ceremony the crowd is showered with "pixie dust" which is basically big glitter. If you watch during the day while you are in the park you will still see it on peoples clothes and in their hair. Just another one of those things us wdw addicts notice and entertain ourselves with.
