Default Now that I'm excited how do I get him to be?

I'm going to Disney October 6-13 for our honeymoon. I'm counting down the days I'm so excited. I would like to get my fiance excited about going to Disney too. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I can't tell you how to make him excited about the trip but I can tell you it's ok if he isn't. My DH doesn't get excited until he is in Florida. I bounce all over the walls for months before hand but he just keeps trotting along at his own pace. It works for us so maybe it will work for you also.

This is true...my husband does not share my excitement from planning the trip, he starts to get excited a few days before.

My DH wasn't all that into Disney before our honeymoon planning, but now that the planning is over and he saw how much fun we had, he can't wait to go back.

I started to get him into it by listening to some of the streaming radio sites online that play all Disney music. Some of them have really soothing attraction music that was nice to listen to before we went to bed at night, so it was a great way to cuddle and plan what we wanted to do during the vacation.

We also read together. We find that very romantic. So, (for this last trip) we got the Unofficial guide and the Imagineering field guides to the parks, and we read a few chapters to each other at night before bed. A few weeks before I also got out my old photo albums so we could go through those together. It was a great way for each of us to hear stories of past trips our families took.

If that doesn't work, you can always take Donaldfans tip!

LOL Welcome to WDW Wives Club! My DH isnt into the magic until he is literally in the magic. Every year we take a trip as a family as well as a solo trip for me & DD because magic once a year is enough for him (blasphemy!!) Dont worry though if he doesnt get into it before you go because he most surely will once he gets there. Its pretty hard not to. Not to mention he will be on high from marrying his girl and on his honeymoon! Get some of those groom & bride ears - so much fun!! WDW likes to give newlyweds special attention.

Maybe after the trip youll end up with one of those elusive DIsney mania DH that run around on this board!

    Have fun & congrats!!

Haha I love WDW wives club! I have always loved Disney since I was little and I guess I think it is weird when other people don't. He has never been but is really into Star Wars and thirll rides. Maybe I can talk those points up.
    Thanks again!

role reversal here! I had to get the Mrs excited about WDW since I wanted to go more than she did for my 3rd trip. I agree with brewcrew26's idea about getting the Unofficial guidebook. The Mrs and I got one and she looked through it to see what she would like to see and do, and it got her more interested in the trip, and even got me to look at things I would have missed.
Plus, excitement is contagious. Once ya'll get there he will be much more into it. Once one enters the gates and looks down main street, even the toughest cookies crumble!

    Have a blast!

Let him plan 1 whole day of it including rides & snacks/food. Also create the maps on line. Just hand him all the materials(make sure you give him intercot website) & tell him to have fun. He might get more excited when you make him do the research of things on his own instead of being told what he is doing. It might not be 100% what you want but he might surprise you. Especially if he gets more excited.

The 1st time dh & I went he wasn't very excited. Part was we were going with my parents too & he never been before. His father never wanted to go & made it clear whenever he had the chance. Dh was excited when we got there & checked in. We had dinner in the "pink" castle that night. It was our 2nd anniversary.Every trip since then I htink he has been more excited then me.Especially this trip. I think he is more than the kids. I know why I'm not ($ & making sure we are cutting a lot of things to go. Also we are going with my whole family. Not just my parents.)I will be more excited when it gets here. Its not until November, I still have time to be excited don't want to wear myself out for the trip.
Just got back. Unless we win the lottery or some long lost rich relative leaves me a bunch of money we won't be back for 5 years.

DH and I are excited now and our trip is in Sept. Anyway, it was not always like that. I found that ordering the vacation DVD helped. When we planed our honeymoon last year. I ordered the DVD and DH and I watched it together. I let him pick the resort we stayed at. That really helped him get more into it. The thing with my DH was I knew he loved the parks (we live in the Orlando area and go every month) but I was not sure about what we was going to think about staying there. But all and all it worked out fine.

Also check your local tv listings the travel channel has some pretty good hour long specials about WDW. That may interest him.

    Have a great trip

I am willing to bet that he will warm up to WDW as time goes on. At this point the whole wedding/honeymoon thing is probably a bit overwhelming.

I know that the first few times we went I didn't enjoy it as much as my wife did. But once our daughter came along I got the chance to see the happiness it brought to both of them. That means as much to me as the enjoyment I get out of the trips myself.
Our daughter starts college in the fall and still looks forward to WDW as much as she did as a little one. And that is what gets ME excited about Disney.

    Good Luck, lauren!!

When I read your title, I thought, "just leave him home" hahah as that is what I do, my hubby is not a disney guy, so we go without him(we do a beach vacation every year, his cup of tea).... but I guess on this one you can't leave him home.

He will get excited as the time comes.. just continue to feed your obsession online and surprise him with all the things you learn. YOu will find with many things in life, the guys don't always get as excited during the journey(pregnancy is one of them) but when the "prize" arrives, they are overjoyed!!!

Yeah, another Disney Wife here. DH likes to go, but he's not as nutty about it as me. He barely mentions that we're going, doesn't talk about it, etc. but once we're there, he's like a little kid again!

Maybe he thinks he's going to a "little kid" place and you should show him pictures and videos etc. of the more adult things there are to do. Like Pleasure Island, the water activities, little romantic spots around the parks, etc. If he gets excited about those things, then the actual cool attractions at the parks will just be a little added bonus for him when he arrives and sees how awesome it is!

I went through the same thing 14 years ago. My husband was an "I don't like amusement parks" type, and no matter how hard I tried to get him to see that WDW is not an amusement park, he just didn't get it.

He started getting a little excited when other people (professional people that he respected) started telling him about it, but he was still wary.

But once I got him there, he started taking about trying to extend our trip.

Now he's still not WDW crazy like me, but he really enjoys it (especially once we get there)
