This could be a great viewing area, great ride, restaurant, resting place ... riding in the front car of monorail...

I've learned so much info from here but i'd like to hear what everyone else is glad they found out. especially what the "general public" doesn't know. thanks

I'd already traveled to Disney a number of times before I found Intercot so already knew quite a bit. Even so, in the last couple of years that
I've been hanging around here I have learned so much from Intercot, it's hard to pick any one thing!

I guess one of the things I value the most is getting information from folks on their experiences at particular resorts and/or restaurants.

I have to pick just one? I too had been to Disney many times before finding Intercot. My past trip in October was my first one to test out intercot tips. (I can't pick just one!):

As an Annual Passholder:
-The 100 Years of Magic Trivia Book (aka MK Scavenger Hunt)
-The AP private event at MNSSHP that even CM's did not know about!

POR Resort
-Bob Jackson, although the night that we 'found' Bob I think we would have gone to see him anyway.
-Taking your dirty clothes to the laundry room in your roller suitcase so that when they come out of the dryer you can fold them neatly in the suitcase and wheel them back to the room, no lugging & no bags breaking! (Thanks carol for that one!)

MK
-The location of the Wedding Ring at HM

MGM
-That Walts Dream was a must do

EPCOT
-Our friends showed us this: That you can get into the stave church near Norway

Restaraunts
-Our friends also raved about O'Hana's but after seeing the reviews here I really wanted to try it!

For my future trip what am I hoping to do from new found Intercot Info?
-A behind-the-scenes-your, not sure which ones just yet!

I'd have to say the big thing I've learned from Intercot is to make PS arrangements as soon as I can, so I'm sure I can get into the restaurants I really want to.

The Stave Church is right outside of Norway. If you are facing the Maelstrom, it is on your left. It has a very quiet, peaceful atmosphere inside and is a museum-like display of the history of the Stave Churches in Norway. You just walk in the door to get in it.

I discovered this exhibit for the first time in October. After all of these years, I think we were just less rushed and there were fewer people on that trip so we could notice more things. I will always make this a stop on each trip now. It is well worth a short visit.

For my tips:

The tip that has saved me the most money is to buy an Annual Pass and booking the room separately instead of buying a package each year.

The tip that has caused me to get more from my vacation is simply by reading Trip Reports. I have discovered ways to have a more relaxing vacation. We now stop to enjoy more "small" attractions like the Stave Church, listening to music, watching the street shows etc.

I agree about the boards trip reports. Though my wife (TiggerMania) and I have only been one time, we took our time and soaked as much in as possible. No rushing from ride to ride like all of our DisneyLand trips have been. We haven't even been to MGM yet and don't plan on going there until our Trip in 2004 though we will be going back to WDW in May!

As I was reading down through these posts, I was thinking that exact thing. Dole Whips....Yummy!

Other good tips I've gotten from hanging around here..

Where to see Tinkerbell at the start of the MK fireworks.
Best buildings to request in resorts.
Good places to find certain charachters.

The best tip I've gotten from intercot was annual passholder discounts on rooms and also national discount codes. We've been able to go on two additional trips because of this.

Tinker Bell flies from the Castle at the beginning of fantasy in the sky. The best place to see her is the bridge between the Castle and Tomorrowland. This is also a good place to watch the fireworks.

Depending on where you stand on Main Street (which is my favorite place to watch the fireworks), you can also see Tinkerbelle from there.

Two great tips that helped a lot on my last trip:

FastPass (its not like its a secret, but its surprising how many people don't know about it or know how it works)

When you encounter long lines, go to the left - the lines are usually a little shorter or move a little faster.

This last trip was my first time checking out the Stave Church as well. Beautifully constructed, the interior has some interesting displays and fascinating information on the history of Stave Churches, their construction and efforts to restore and protect those still in existence. There's a sort of porch that circles the church and two doors. But you can't see the doors from the 'street' side which is probably why a lot of people don't realize you can go in. Its wonderfully peaceful inside.

Ice Station Cool! I always thought it was just a restaurant, so we'd skip it.

We'd been to WDW a few times and I never knew about it. We read about it on Intercot, and had to check it out.

Thanks, Intercot!

Cool

The biggest discovery for me has got to be the teacher discounts at the Swan/Dolphin. What a huge discount that is for a teacher whose wife stays at home.
Other great discoveries would be ridding in the front of the monorail, who knew you could do that. I really impressed the sixth grade boys we took last year on a school trip. The other great discovery would have to be O'hana. I never would have thought about trying O'hana, and now it is one of my absolute favorites.

The list would take up all Intercot's web space if I could even remember everything, but here are a couple of great tips I got from Intercot:

1) If you book your flight yourself directly with an airline and you later see that their rates for the exact same flights have gone down, you can call the airline and, if it's the right airline (we flew Delta, but others do this too), they'll send you a voucher for the difference in price that you can use for a future flight.

2) Faxing your room request to the resort--makes you feel like you've tried, anyway.

3) Spend a day at Fort Wilderness. I had no clue there was so much to do there. It's wonderful, from the petting zoo and stables to bicycle rentals to horseback ride, not to mention the FANTASTIC Trail's End Buffet. Delish!

Okay, I'll stop here!

Intercot is an invaluable resource.

I agree with all so far, here are some others:

-How to get big points on Buzz Lightyear Spaceranger Spin (hint: always turn around and look on the back of things).
-Ice Cream Social at Epcot
-Staying at AKL and eating at Boma
-E-ride nights (not to be missed)
-In general when to do things, and how to get there
I wish Mr. Tom Morrow would hurry up and take his page!
