Has anyone out there actually done this? I have some questions about it before I try to get a PS for this. Do the children go alone or can an adult accompany them? Do you have to pay for the adult to go? Do the children actually ride in a boat? My nephew would not handle going off alone well, but he loves pirates! Help!

I don't think I've ever heard of that before. Does it have to do with dining? Please clear yourself up!

Sorry for not making myself clear before. I have seen it listed with the Alice Tea Party before, so I assumed it must have something to do with eating! It is a kid's adventure at Disney World where youngsters get to look for treasure. Maybe it's not listed as a meal. I'm just not sure.

No need to apologize, I understand your question completely.

However, it may be moved to the Vacation Planning Forum, to assist you in receiving more responses.

    Firstly, Welcome to INTERCOT !

    To answer your question:

The Pirate Cruise is for children only.

Pirate Cruise - Casts off from the Grand Floridian Marina.
Cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon in search of treasure. Buccaneers get a bandana to wrap around their heads, hear a story, learn pirate songs and receive a bag of loot.
    Cruises are from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    Monday - Thursday.
    Cost is $22.95 per child, ages 3 - 10

My four year old did the pirate cruise in May. As already stated, it is children only. I was actually disappointed when I saw what the cruise consisted of, it was merely a pontoon boat with lifeguards. No pirates were to be found. They did give all of the kids bandannas to wear on their heads. That being said, my four year old loved it, and it appeared that all of the other kids did to. He is already asking if he can do it again next time.

My son did the Pirate Cruise last November and LOVED it! It would depend on your nephew and his experience in other situations, but my guy had been in daycare since he was very young. He did the Pirate Cruise two days after his fifth birthday. When you arrive, you suit the kids up in a life-jacket, and then a bandanna is tied pirate-style on their head. They go off on a pontoon boat (it's the only way modern pirates travel these days ), and go off on a scavenger hunt. They search out pieces of the map, and then the treasure itself which is divided up among the participants. The treasure consists of little toys... my son still goes through his little bag of toys and puts everything back into it (a small miracle in and of itself). They come back singing "Yo ho yo ho" and all the kids had a great time!

You must call 120 days in advance to make the reservation through WDW Dining. It can book up (and did for our chance to repeat the experience this year ).

Each child is different but I would say that this was a definite "two thumbs up"!

Thanks everybody for your input. I'm still not sure whether my nephew would enjoy it, but I think I'm gonna tell him what y'all said and let him decide.
