    Question

We were going to dine at LeCellier our first night at WDW, howver, we've been reading mixed reviews about it in the Unofficial Guide books. Can someone tell me their experiences here and if it's worth it? Thanks! 26 days and counting.

I bet you find lots of fans here. I had actually not considered it before coming to INTERCOT but now I'm excited to try it in only a week and a half.

Expensive, but easily one of the best steaks I've ever had.

We love Le Cellier! Their steaks are excellent, but the thing I love the most is the cheese soup. They serve wonderful pretzel breadsticks too. Have a great time!

    Welcome to INTERCOT!

The restaurant is fantastic, assuming you're a meat-eater. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. IMHO, one of the best places to eat in WDW!

    Another Le Cellier endorsement here.
I've gone for a late lunch and the prices
are cheaper. The steak burgers, steak
sandwich with tarragon aoli and prime rib
sandwich are all wonderful (and large).

    Ditto on those wonderful breadsticks!

My family has plans to eat there this Saturday. I will put a note here when I get back on how our visit went. I am really looking forward to it. My husband is a master with steaks and a grill, so I will have some pretty high expectations!

    Cool

Sorry to be the damper, but we absolutely hated Le Cellier. I know it was probably an isolated bad experience but I must warn you. We had PS for 3 (me, wife, mom). My wife was sick so she stayed in the room. I warned mom not to tell the hostess becasue parties of 2 always seem to get hosed. Mom didn't listen and said 2. We ended up in the back of the restaurant, in a corner facing the kitchen and walls. I had a buffalo steak and it was the toughest piece of meat I have ever chewed (and chewed and chewed.....). I am not kidding or exaggerating when I say this, but we sat for 50 minutes after we were finished and did not see our waitress. It had been over an hour between her visits. We had hoped to see the Tapestry of Nations but she effectively blew that. We begged others to help us locate this elusive person. We asked for the manager. Still no waitress. When she showed up we advised her of our dissatifaction. She pretty much told us she had been busy. No appologies.
No one made any attempt to "make things better" and no one ever appologized. I was not looking for a free meal nor do I care that I didn't get one. But the treatment, or lack of, we received was AWFUL!
As I said, it may have been isolated and we have toyed with the idea of trying again, but this "adventure" was so bad I would have to think hard about it. It was, without any doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had at WDW. Not to mention the tough steak. I will say that mom's salmon was pretty good, though. There. A compliment. The only one I'll give.

I think I will also try it for lunch. I have heard that the cheese soup is really good.

When I went, last January, not only was our server very attentive, but the managers visited our table several times, and then remembered our names when we saw them again later outside the pavillion! It was GREAT hospitality, and one of my best experiences that whole trip!

YET ANOTHER TRUE STORY ABOUT MY DAD: He once got into an argument with the girl at the Dairy Queen over why a sundae costs more than an ice cream cone. His reasoning: The sundae should be cheaper, because, since there's no cone involved, it contains less actual food products. A lengthy debate about the relative costs of cones vs. hot fudge and peanuts ensued.

Oh yeah, we had great service as well. One of the best servers we've ever had at WDW.

We have been there a couple times and have had excellent service and very good meals. The last time the server spent a lot of time entertaining and amusing our 2 daughters. Granted it was not very busy, but he went above and beyond.

And as everyone else has commented the cheese soup is great.

We love it! Went there on a friends recommendation and have recommended it highly on these boards and to friends and family. Food, service, and atmosphere is great. Anyone else love the Raftsman beer? It is a fine brew.

Sorry, I hated it,too. But if you like meat and potatos, it's passable. There is just so much to choose from in the world showcase that is special that I don't plan to spend another predictable meal there.
