Our vacation begins Wed. but we feel guilty for traveling from NY and having fun while so many Floridians have been devastated. We donated to the recovery-fund, and the FL tourist bureau urged us to still come and "spend money."
Are the Parks and MCO pretty much running normally?
    Thanks for the info.

In central florida, things are back up and running - the coast south of tampa however is going to have a long road back. Your vacation will support the folks working for a living.... staying away (other than the devastated areas) actually would have a detrimental effect to their economy and jobs.

So, go and enjoy but do as you did - support groups and organizations that will spend the money well on people in that area - and don't take much overhead.

Have a good trip - you are missing ICOT25 by about a week!

I understand what you are saying but you need to consider that hurricanes hit Florida regularly. Sometimes and actually most times there are multiple hurricanes each season. If everyone felt guilty and didn't go ahead with their vacations, trips and conventions; Orlando would go bankrupt. Like John said, they need you to come and go with your plans so they can earn a living and build back. I hope you have a good time while you are there.
