    Default Galactic Star Cruiser experience

I am amazed there is no news and little discussion about the new Star Wars hotel opening Spring 2022. I was shocked that I had to go to another website to learn the details. Maybe I am just a big Star Wars geek. I used to LOVE the Star Wars days in Hollywood Studios. Seeing the storm trooper gave me the chills. I am wondering what folks think about the price tag- gulp. Also hoping it will not be solely focussed on the Kylo-Ren movies. The folks who may be able to afford this are likely the middle aged Leia-with-her cinnamon-buns - crowd. It's been years since I've been to the world and the pandemic has me quite reluctant, however I am already rationalizing the expense of this unique immersive experience. Curious what others think.

I agree that it's pricey at $1,209 per night per guest for a party of two and $749 per night per guest for a party of four for a total base price of $4,836 for two and $5,992 for four. However, I'm sure there are some (although Disney is banking on many) that will pay to stay at that rate. I'm an OG SW fan too, but I think it would have to be a really special experience for me to consider the rate. I think I'll pass for now.

Getting my "dad" points here....Think about it for a minute or two: They are saying 100 guest rooms in this 'hotel'...Even if there are only two per room, it comes out to almost $500,000 every two days. The would equate to around $15 MILLION per month, with full occupancy. Granted, there is a lot of overhead with this 'experience' - costuming, actor pay, furnishing refreshes, etc., but that's going to be a pretty big haul (and profit) for Disney.

Even at 75% occupancy, which I fully believe they will have for at least a year, it's going to be big for their bottom line.

All that said, compare this pricing to some of the top Deluxe resorts and you'll find that the price is on line with what they are charging for Savannah rooms, or Club Level at some of them. It's just 'sticker shock' to see the total price right up front.

As I have said elsewhere, this is just too rich for my blood, so I will watch from afar. LOL

Do these prices include tax? If not add at least another $300 to the total.

You are correct..no tax included with this tally. However, I do believe the price tag includes meals (BLD), a snack and one alcoholic drink per day. I guess you'll need imperial credits if you want to enjoy a couple libations on your vacation. Still too rich for me too!

Plus, no one goes on a two night vacation, so now you have to add more expense to fill out the rest of the week. Also no swimming pool.

I am hoping to be able to get reservations for Fall, 2023. DS1 is a HUGE Star Wars fan, so I'm really looking forward to doing this with him.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
