Default Run Disney crowds and festival of the arts

For the first time ever a run Disney event is scheduled for the first weekend we are in WDW (our dates are 1/6 -1/15). We are staying at Pop. How bad will the crowds be in the parks?

Also, we are hoping to catch the start of the festival of the arts. Anyone think it will start around the 8th even though a run is scheduled?

Big shoutout to Denise from Magical Journey who always does a fantastic job with our trips!!

I would expect it to be busy, especially considering there were only virtual races last year. The January races have an extra race day as well.

It's typically crowded but manageable - and all the hotels are sold out. Only thing is that people getting up at 4am tend to burn out by midday. However, most times they have family or friends in tow. So, best advice is expect it to be busy...

Thanks for the info. I’m glad we have six days after the race! Hopefully everyone will go home.
