Disney son flew down to spend Fathers day with Epcot Dad. We drove over to Epcot via I-4 from Tampa area. Arrived around 10:15 to toll plaza. $25 standard parking fee. My first time ever parking in the lot. Not a huge crowd so after parking and walking up to security, we only have a 3 minute wait to get into the park. The entrance inside the park that I was used to is now clutter free. Looks different and less congested. Major construction still going on in the middle area behind Spaceship Earth. we went clockwise around the park. Did Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, Mexico river ride, China film, Soarin, the Land Test Track and Spaceship earth again. Most of the attractions were walk on except for Test Track which was about a 30 minute wait. I only sampled one of the food vendors at flower show, trowel and trellis, the boneless impossible korean short rib. a tasty item! The restaurant area around the Land was not crowded around 3 p.m. We ate dinner at the American pavilion restaurant which now has a bbq theme. Good ribs, but not as good as the ones in Animal Kingdom at Flametree. We stepped out of Epcot to walk around the Epcot Resorts area. Not crowded. Looks like boardwalk area is starting to come to life a little. Prior to departing Epcot for the parking lot, I did get my treasured Dole Whip ice cream from one of the food booths. There is an area not far from Test Trak that has displays on the future of Epcot. It's called the Epcot Experience. It's worth stopping by to see old posters of former attractions also. This makes our 30th anniversary of the first trip to DW in 1991 when my sons were 10 and 5 respectively. We've seen many changes in the parks over that time frame. With the changes going on at Epcot, the future of the parks looks promising.
