So I know you need a park reservation and a boarding group to ride Rise. I am confirming that I can book my boarding group from my hotel off property at 7am? Also am I guaranteed a spot or what is the likelihood that I get a spot if I do it right at 7? Also what time of day is the pass for?

If you have a park res, you should be able to book from off property at the set time. They made that change a while back.

As fare as the likelihood - you will probably get a spot - but when it will be for, no one knows... you're fighting everyone else who will be doing the exact same thing.

I have tried 3 times at 7am with no luck. I have been able to get it all 3 times at the 1pm time. For the 1pm, you MUST be in the park. The 7am, you can do from anywhere. Good luck. Google tips and tricks to get a boarding group. And also be aware, even if you get a boarding group, there is not a guarantee you will get on the ride. It is a complex ride and breaks down a lot.

Yep, the 7am can be done from anywhere. You do need to have a park reservation for Hollywood Studios.

You need to be in the My Disney Experience app and be in the Hook Virtual Queue section before 7am. Refresh at 7am and click join. Everyone in your party should be trying to join. You need to be on it; the virtual boarding passes will be home in within 5 minutes. We did this on our recent trip and got into the 7am virtual queue all 3 days we went to Hollywood Studios.

It'll give you an estimated minutes until boarding and tell you what group numbers are currently boarding. You can check on status in the My Disney Experience app. We were in boarding group 49 on our first day and were called around 11am. Our second day we never boarded; the ride was down all day. We were in boarding group 5 on our 3rd day and were called to board after as soon as they got the ride up and running that day (about 9am).

Wonder if the ride was down over popular demand and people wanting to be on it? You may wonder that as hope it will be in the coming back up.

It's a complex ride system so it tends to go down often.

So we fly out of PHL at 9:38 Sunday and get into MCO about two hours later, but have a park ressie for DHS that afternoon/evening. Think we might be able to snag trip on ROTR?

If you are not getting in to MCO until 11:40am (give or take a few minutes,) it is unlikely that you will even be at your resort by 1pm, let alone in DHS to be able to get a virtual queue spot. Even if you are driving yourself and keep your luggage in your rental car, the chances would still be slim to none...and Slim has already left the building.

We just got back from Walt Disney World last week. We planned two days at DHS, for this reason...to increase our chances of getting on this ride through the Virtual Queue system. We had a party of 16, and the first time we tried it, we only had three of us attempting to get in (7am). Over the course of the morning we did our best to get everyone in the party to show up on everyone else's friends/family list in the MDE app. At 1pm we all got together, and managed to snag a spot in the queue.

Then, the next Saturday morning for our 2nd day, we got up early and did the same thing where everyone tried at 7am, and we got it again. So, we got to ride it twice! It's a little nerve-wracking trying to get it, but so much fun to ride.

Hey...I'd rather a blunt outlook vs. unrealistic expectations. I guess the problem is that on any other trip you'd say ok...we're just going to try every morning to get ROTR and we'll shuffle our other plans accordingly. Unfortunately with the current park ressie system that flexibility isn't there. That's ok...we'll live! And if we don't ride it this time then there's always next time. Thanks for your advice!
