    Default No MNSSHP?

I read something on Facebook that said Magic Kingdom isn't having Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. Is this true?

That is true. They are replacing it with an 'After Hours Boo Bash' event.

Disney Announces Limited Time "After Hours Boo Bash" Replacing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
    Friday, May 7, 2021 - 14:34

2021 will see a return of after hours events at Walt Disney World starting this Halloween season, but it looks like those hoping for Disney to bring back Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will have to keep waiting. Instead this year Disney has announced the limited time "After Hours Boo Bash" at the Magic Kingdom, which is a new special-ticket event, that will run select nights August 10-October 31.

Like previous Halloween events, Disney After Hours Boo Bash will feature special decor at Magic Kingdom, special performances from the Cadaver Dans, attractions, themed food offerings, trick-or-treat candy stops, and special character appearances throughout the park, which will include cavalcades and villain appearances like Dr. Facilier and Captain Barbosa who will be "lurking about". Guests of all ages will also be able to dress up for the festivities by wearing costumes during this limited time evening event.

Unfortunately as of right now, one of the big changes between this event and the former Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the After Hours Boo Bash will not include parades or fireworks, which have been unable to return to the park since last year's reopening.

Guests who purchase tickets to this event will not need a Disney Parks Pass reservation to visit the Magic Kingdom during the After Hours Boo Bash and Disney has confirmed that all guests will be required to wear face coverings during the event. Pricing has not been announced yet, but tickets are set to go on sale sometime next month. You can learn more at Disney's official site.

I'm actually kinda excited about this, and really wish I could go. I know soooo many people LOVED the Halloween Party, but I've been twice and both times it was a total let-down. It was super crowded, insane lines for any of the special things, even rides were still busy. But, the parade was awesome.

On the other hand, the After-Hours events have been super. I just hope they don't oversell it. I guess only time will tell is this a watered-down Halloween party, or an after hours with halloween "bonus".

Is there any word about whether or not the Halloween Party will return? The Bash starts too late for my Grandchildren...

Also, are there any other Halloween events or experiences at any of the resort hotels?

Over 100 seperate visits since 1972!
1st visit was before Space Mountain was built and we used ticket books to see attractions!

This 'After Hours' event is replacing the Halloween Party (MNSSHP) this year.

Wowza! Costume included? That's more a one day standard ticket...it better be spectacular!

Exactly the same for us. I had finally talked myself into biting the bullet and going now that the face mask requirements are being rolled back and would hopefully be completely gone by then including indoors. Then I read they weren't doing MNSSHP but instead doing an after hours event called "Boo Bash" that from what I can tell is the halloween party minus the parade to save them money but at the same time get this.........the tickets are outrageous. I said no thanks...I can wait some more and go elsewhere during October instead.

Yeah...For 3 hours (vs 5 for the old MNSSHP) and 1 hour 'early entry' (vs 3 for the old MNSSHP) at a substantially higher price, it is definitely a 'no-go' for me. (Not that I am going to be at WDW during that time frame anyway! LOL)

The Disney Blog said that people with tickets can enter the park at 7pm.

Okay...So I misspoke and it is 2 hours 'early entry' vs the 3 from the MNSSHP days. You would get 5 hours MAX with Boo Bash vs 8 hours MAX with the MNSSHP. At the higher price for AHBB, it just does not have the 'bang for the buck' that MNSSHP had. No fireworks show and no parade bring that value down even farther. It MAY be possible, with the way things are starting to get back to 'normal,' that those two things could come back, but currently they are off the schedule for the AHBB.

These are ONLY my opinions. Take them with a full shaker of salt! LOL

I get what you're saying. On a normal trip we wouldn't consider this. And as others have pointed out on similar threads, it only holds it's value if they don't oversell it. I'm just not ready to deal with park reservations for a short visit. We're mainly looking for the best way to get our fix until we can have a "normal" trip again.
