Default New Disney guidelines for resort dropoffs

I just called to get a scooter from Apple. Disney resorts have a new policy. I was told that they can’t drop them off anymore at the resort unless somebody is actually there to pick it up. It used to be they would drop it off in the morning or a few hours before you got there and that way you could grab it and go. But now you have to get to the resort. Call them. And wait for them to drop it off.

I always prefer the personal contact. When I picked up my ECV from Bell Services, my key had "disappeared" (been given away, probably) so I had to wait another 1/2 hour for them to find a key "that would work". Then I heard a story of a woman who returned her ECV to bell services, only to have the rental company call her the next day-they couldn't find her ECV, so they decided she must not have returned it. Last time I rented from a company that delivers directly to the guest-I got off DME, and waited about 5 minutes for the ECV company to show up. Then the return was right at the time we'd both agreed to, right where DME picks up. No problems!

A few more details can be found in this thread: http://www.intercot.com/discussion/s...10#post2525310

We've also used providers where we had to meet them for drop-off and pick-up, and it was no bother at all.
