After 18 months in the planning, my friend's wedding was last week at the wedding pavilion at the Grand Floridian. And indeed, it was grand❤️
Most of the guests traveled from the Philadelphia area. The wedding was very nice and the pavilion is beautiful. After the beautiful ceremony we lined up outside to toss red rose petals as the bride and groom left the chapel. The brides parents surprised her with Cinderella's coach and the bride was so excited!
The pre-reception was at the convention center and appetizers were served and an open bar. Then we moved into the reception area for the reception dinner. The theme was Beauty and Beast. The tables were set with a red magic rose under glass in center of table, red roses at each setting with embroidered napkins with bride and groom names and lots of glitter and sparkles. Each place setting had a box of chocolates and we also got a napkin wrapped up in a bow that was embroidered with Be Our Guest as a take home gift.
The cake was a white cake on a table with Beauty and the Beast wording circling the cake. A large collector sculpture of Belle and the Beast dancing sat next to the cake ( like a large size Jim Shore piece). A mural with a countryside scene was behind the table.
The buffet dinner was very good and they had an open bar for the dinner also.
After we ate, there was a DJ and dancing. Mickey and Minnie made a surprise visit and danced with the crowd then helped the couple cut the wedding cake. A little later the Mad Hatter made an appearance also.
It was a lot of fun and I am so glad I got to share in their special day❤️A Disney wedding is a magical experience.
