Toy Story Land To Come To Life At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Not sure if it's because my kids are grown or not but this isn't really getting me as worked up as I thought. On the other hand there was nothing much there before so anything is better than nothing; and grand kids are in the future.

We stayed at the Toy Story buildings in All-Star Movies resort many years ago when my two oldest children were tots. They loved it, and my now-16yo still talks about it. So I'm sure when this is finished, they'll all love the new area. And geeking out about the Star Wars land in my family is a given.

I have to admit, though, that I am disappointed with Toy Story Land. I had hoped that there would be much more of a tribute and attractions dedicated to more of the Pixar movies. (I will never stop hoping for a "door" ride a la Monsters Inc. )

Also, after seeing the Indiana Jones Adventure and Radiator Springs Racers in Disneyland, I had also hoped for at least some version of one of those to appear at WDW. In my opinion, these are two of the best rides in ANY of the U.S. parks. But I understand why you don't want to duplicate everything on both coasts.

I'm sure everything will look fantastic when it's finally done. But I'm still crossing my fingers, like others, that this isn't the last of the announcements for DHS.

If the theming is done well (and doing theming well is one of Disney's biggest strengths) then both lands could be big hits. Both have a lot of potential to be fully immersive experiences.
