Default Where Have All the Campers Gone?

Does anyone camp at Fort Wilderness any more? There doesn't seem to be be much discussion in this forum at all.

When we were there in January, my family stayed in one of the cabins. The campsites were pretty well booked.

My family is actually tentatively planning a camping trip next October. They want to rent an RV, then drive down and camp. I'll be flying in to meet them and staying in a resort. I'm not a camper.

The campground is full most of the time. This board simply doesn't seem to a a popular place for discussion about it though. There are some other online forums that "specialize" in discussions of FW camping.

Ditto with it being full. I have tried to search multiple dates in various times of year and came up empty every time.

Having stayed there for our first time this past June, we will definitely be going back. However, our next trip won't be until late 2016. I enjoy reading other's posts, but I don't post often myself.

I'm surprised about the lack of availability for spaces. Years ago, Disney used to offer winter rates for more long term campers. Apparently, they had a harder time filling the campground back then!!

We stayed in a cabin for the first time back at the end of July. The campground was full. I have to admit, I have never had any desire to stay at Fort Wilderness. I loved River Country back in the day, but have avoided Fort Wilderness ever since. As a park ranger I guess it felt more like work than a vacation. But this trip in July changed my mind. We loved every thing about FW. I wouldn't want to do it without a golf cart though as it is very spread out. We also attended the Hoop de do revue and had a great time. I highly recommend the cabins and the revue now!
