Epicurean Expansion

4/12/14 The Magic Kingdom is adding additional dining options for the Peak Spring period. The Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland is offering a quick service lunch from 11:00 am till 3:00 pm now through April 28, 2014. The location will also offer a family-style Turkey Dinner April 13 – 19, 2014.

A New Twist

4/12/14 After an apparent delay, construction walls are now up around the new The Wetzel's Pretzels/ Haagen-Dazs location in Downtown Disney Westside. The new kiosk is being built on the side of the Disney Quest building facing the Cirque du Soleil theater. The new kiosk is schedule to open Mid Spring 2014.

10/20/13 The Wetzel's Pretzels/ Haagen-Dazs location in Downtown Disney Westside ceased operation October 19, 2013. The conversion to a Starbucks location has been announced to be complete Spring 2014. The new Wetzel's Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs kiosks have been announced to open Late December 2013.

9/9/13 The Wetzel's Pretzels/ Haagen-Dazs location in Downtown Disney Westside is slated to close in October 2013 in order to be renovated into a new Starbucks location. Two new Wetzel's Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs kiosks are planned to be built near DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney Westside.

Refurbs in Paradise

4/12/14 Despite delays, the renovation project at Disney's Polynesian Resort continues to progress. Moana Mickey's arcade permanently closed at the end of March 2014. Future use of the former arcade space has not been announced. After a two week delay, Captain Cook’s has closed for renovations and a temporary location opened in the Great Ceremonial House. The temporary area is a full counter-service location with a small seating area reclaimed from a former Cast Member break-room. Although Dole Whips are not available at the temporary location, many of the other typical items continue to be served. The location is offering three main meal periods; Breakfast from 6:30 am - 11:00 am, Lunch/Dinner from 11:00 am - 11:00pm, and Late Night from 11:00 pm - 1:30 am. Breakfast offerings include Tonga Toast, Bounty Platter, Mickey Waffle, and Croissant Breakfast Sandwich. Lunch / Dinner offerings include Cheese, Pepperoni, Hawaiian, and Daily Special Flatbreads; Aloha Pork, Big Kahuna, Chicken, 1/3 lbs Angus Bacon Cheeseburger, and Thai Coconut Meatball sandwiches; and Caesar Chicken Salad, Polynesian Tossed Salad, Pork Nachos, Thai Coconut Meatballs, and Chicken Teriyaki entrees. The selection of Flatbreads continue to be offered during the Late Night service. Finally, Resort Cast have reported that the rolling renovations of the Great Ceremonial House are now slated to begin Mid April 2014.

3/9/14 Resort Cast have updated that Captain Cook’s is scheduled to close for refurbishment from March 28 till Summer 2014. A temporary quick service location in the Great Ceremonial House is scheduled to be offered during this period from 6:30 am to 4:30 am daily.

Fair-Weather Fairies

3/23/14 Character Cast have reported several changes regarding the Tinker Bell Meet & Greet at the Magic Kingdom. It has been reported that Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook in Adventureland will permanently close Late Spring 2014. Coinciding with this closure, a new Tinker Bell Meet & Greet with FASTPASS+ option will reportedly open in Town Square Theater on Main Street USA. In addition to the location change, Cast have reported that only Tinker Bell will be available at the new Meet & Greet. The new Meet & Greet will use the space formerly occupied by the Disney Princess Meet & Greet.

3/23/14 Guests have reported a new tasty addition to the Tambu Lounge at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. The lounge famous for its tropical drinks is now offering the equally famous ‘Ohana Bread Pudding from the adjacent ‘Ohana.
