I agree that the price point is way too high. Like someone else pointed out, it would be about $90 for DH and I to have a flight (which is probably only going to be 3 or 4 two oz. pours) and some appetizers. PLUS the money we'll spend of F&WF, dinner, breakfast (won't count park admission since we have our AP's)... just not worth it for an extra 90 minutes in a restaurant in WS. Oh yeah... add in another $75 or so if we did the Sparkling Dessert party, too.

Just let me stay in a restaurant a little later to enjoy a drink or two. That would be fine.

We never rush out of Epcot after Illuminations anyway. We always take our time. And now that we're staying at YC, we'll be even more relaxed.

I didn't see anywhere if this is adults only or not. I would hate to pay that kind of money, just to sit in a place that has grumpy, crying or screaming/running kids all over the place. Not very relaxing to me. If they didn't keep kids out of the Adventurer's Club (which drove me crazy), then they won't keep them out of this, either.

I can't say whether or not we were Pleasure Island people. We certainly aren't "dance club" people, but we do enjoy good entertainment and a night out. I feel like the Adventurer's Club would've been right up our alley, but I only had one 21+ trip before it closed down and we didn't have enough time to check it out. I definitely see this as an attempt to keep people on property with Universal expanding their appeal to the older crowd and luring people away. I like the idea, but not sure about that price point.

I liked PI when it was adults.
I would love to stay at Epcot later...why not just leave the places open later. I think the price is kinda high also for just a flight.

You know the more I think about it, the more I would love the idea of the outside food/beverage kiosks be open later. That way you have a wide range of adult beverages and food samples. Basically keep those Festival booths open.

A flight is considered one drink. There are sample menus on the Disney Food Blog. If you don't want the flight you can have a single drink.

No, a flight (in the regular world, at least) is considered a presentation of several drinks, usually small pours.

On the DFB, as you note, I see that it says at LCdT you can enjoy a tequila flight OR a single shot of a tequila, so that's fine. I don't know why you'd choose the single shot, unless the particular tequilas offered as a single shot are extraordinarily good.

But where it gets confusing is that nowhere on the official Disney site for this promotion is the word "flight" used. In fact, it reads:

"Admission to Epcot After Hours Wind Down costs just $35 per Guest—tax and gratuity not included—and comes complete with one (1) beverage and a delectable selection of light snacks."

Now if "one beverage" is good for, let's say, one glass of wine OR a flight of a few (probably lesser quality) glasses of wine, then okay. But it seems that "flight" is perhaps being used too loosely.

Does anyone besides me find a great irony in the fact that Disney used to have tons of great places for adults to go after park close?

It was called "Pleasure Island" and Disney ... well ... inexplicably closed it down.

Pretty clear now they're scrambling to find new places for adults to go after park close.

I disagree for a few reasons. One, the vibe of staying in Epcot after Ilumminations is very different than PI. Two, it is a shorter amount of time, it's really a wind down, not a party. Three, and I'm surprised you hadn't mentioned this, the cost to WDW for this is miniscule compared to PI. Instead of staffing, maintaining and stocking several different locations, this requires a little extra stock and a few more labor hours.

Personally, I like the idea. Will I do it every trip? Probably not. Will I do it sometimes? Yes. That answer works better for this than PI as far as WDW is concerned.

Agreed. And really, rethinking the price point, it's actually not that bad. Alcoholic drinks, unless you're strictly a beer drinker and even then, can run about $15 in WS. I've seen some of the snack menu offerings for this, and it seems you get a nice tasting menu worth of food, though small portions, which would also run about $15-20 anyway. And to stay late and enjoy some drawn out, quiet WS time? I think the price point is about what I expect to pay and not really outrageous.

Me too. I could totally see doing this with my husband or a group of friends. I was never a big PI person. Hanging , chilling and eating is more my speed.

We're not a fan of clubs, but we do enjoy having a drink, talking, and meeting new people. I think its a great idea!

Do you get your money's worth? Probably not. That being said, it's no different than paying for a dessert party (and way cheaper). We don't care about fireworks and desserts, but we do enjoy drinks, savory food, and conversation. Different strokes for different folks. I haven't looked at the food offerings, but if they sound good, we may do this.

Not only that, but it is GUARANTEED attendance for the most part since there are advanced, and limited, reservations.

If they don't get the advanced reservations, this won't last long.

Dessert party in MK? I can see doing that once in awhile and have enjoyed it in the past. Reserved seating for fireworks and the dessert spread is amazing.

I never really thought PI was for adults. Went there when I was 36 and felt like the oldest person in all of PI.
Seemed to be mainly the just-legal or even the just-about-to-be legal crowd getting ripped.
Think they realized that they didn't didn't all of the aggravation and that adults will spend more once the transformation is complete.

I was never a club person either, but I did like the original Pleasure Island. I think I would enjoy staying later in Epcot as the crowds die down, but the cost does seem high.

i love ws at epcot as it winds down. usually i order another oktoberfest just before 9 and sit on the fountain in germany and enjoy it and make my way out about 10. like others have said...if they just left the booths open with some drinks/light fare -- it would hold me. i am not into the party places...

I was not a fan of this place - but...... it could fit in the Studios.....

They'd have to have dinner & make it a Table Service - but I could see it there.
