Magic Band Question

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is where this thread belongs, so please feel free to move!!

We are headed to the world in late September and we just booked with Magical Journeys yesterday....my reservation name is James....because that is my legal name, but can I have a different name printed on the Magic Band? Or does it have to match exactly?? I would much rather have Jim as the name on the band, does it matter?

When you go in to the My Disney Experience app/page to customize your bands, you can have anything you want put on it -- up to a certain number of characters (12????)

It does not need to match anything about your actual name!!

The chip inside the band has all of the "required" information to identify you. That is the info that is transmitted between the band and the band reader

Oh ok, so no matter what my band says, the CM at the entrance or FP locations will still see my name as James?? I get it now, thanks for the info!
