POR/POFQ Boat Route Change

I hadn't been following all of the parking saga/challenges at Downtown Disney, since we are planning to stay at POFQ and I figured we'd just take the boat.

But, I've just read that the Marketplace boat dock is also closed, so the boats from POR/POFQ will run to/from the Pleasure Island dock instead.

So, I'm a Marketplace kinda girl. How far is the walk from the Pleasure Island dock over to the Marketplace?

How crazy it is with the construction? Are we better to just skip DTD this trip altogether?

The Pleasure Island boat dock isn't far at all - actually not a bad walk

DD is a disaster right now. Too much construction.

No parking, and inside looks like an eyesore with the varying degrees of construction.

Anyone who has been there recently care to give us an update on DTD?

We were there a few times during our visit 5/16 to 5/23. It's a bit crowded especially by the Lego store. It usually is always crowded there anyways. We used the bus system from Beach Club and were pleasantly surprised there wasn't much traffic. I had read on various sites that the traffic congestion was pretty bad. There is no where to park from what I could tell. Lots of cars driving around.

We enjoy Downtown Disney..always have. I was a bit disappointed that the Co-op wasn't open yet, but I know it's open now.

I'm glad we didn't skip it. We enjoyed a nice meal at Raglan Road and a snack at Goofy's Candy Shop. Another day we had a nice meal at Wolfgang Puck's and were able to ride Character's Flight for the first time. DD has a lot to offer. IMO

Does anyone know when the Market Place dock will open again?

I was wondering if anyone has any updates on the Market Place boat dock? My husband and I will be there from 11/9-11/15 & are staying at POFQ and always look forward to taking the boat to DTD. The walk from the other dock will be too much for me being I broke my ankle last year and am still not all that good with walking far distances. Thanking anyone in advance for any updates.

The Marketplace Dock had just reopened when we were there at the tail end of August ... and it is pretty!

It is located right near the bus stop, and short walk from the Christmas store (you come "into" DTD just past the bus gates, where the fountain is during the warmer weather.)

So, no long walk from Pleasure Island needed anymore!

Just come back - Marketplace dock is also bigger than old one and a gentle slope for those with strollers and wheelchairs. I really appreciated that!
Lots of construction walls but everytime we went it seemed some came down and others went up but they have signs on and CM's to help. Didn't spoil it at all for us, in fact they added new fountains to the lake when we were there. Only disappointment was the Rainforest Café volcano has scaffolding on so wasn't working. Would like to have seen.
