Default Beach Club, Boardwalk or Yacht Club?

I'm trying to decide between Beach Club, Boardwalk or Yacht Club for our next vacation. I love that you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios from each of these resorts. We are a family of 4, kids will be 17 & 12 at the time of travel.

Please tell me what you like/don't like about each of these resorts.

    Thank you for any info.

My pre-teen & teenage kids loved the Beach Club, because of the fabulous pool, and due to the fact that our room was practically at the back entrance to Epcot World Showcase. The Boardwalk has the entertainment factor that we enjoyed- if you stay there, ask for a courtyard facing room. We were actually able to see the fireworks at Epcot each night from our balcony- wonderful! Each resort was great, I guess it would depend on how important the pool is, and the time of year you are going. Each one was great!

We've stayed at BC and bw...bw is our favorite by far. We aren't huge swimmers on Disney trips so SAB was nice, but not a huge draw. We love coming back to our resort at night and watching the entertainers on the boardwalk

The one downfall of bw is the lack of a good grab and go breakfast. Unless you like sweets in the morning, you're out of luck

We have loved our stays at Beach Club and Yacht Club. I prefer YC, only because it's quieter and I like the décor better. However, you are closer to Epcot/International Gateway when staying at BC. If you plan to spend a lot of time in Epcot then go with BC. At YC you are closer to the boat that takes you to both Epcot and DHS. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either of these resorts.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk once and we didn't care for it. The pool was small and nothing special. We do enjoy walking the boardwalk in the evenings, but we can do that just as easy when staying at BC or YC. We will likely never stay at BW again, not when BC and YC are just around the corner.

We prefer BC. More dining options than BW with Cape May Cafe, Beaches and Cream and nice reataurants at YC. Great pool. I think closer to Epcot and shorter boat ride to DHS. Closer to refillable mug station. Like the decor a little better and a better market place than Yc. Downer might be the last stop for busses so you may have to wait for a second bus.
Have only stayed in CL suite at BW (upgrades). Pool had an odd odor for what ever reason so we a avoided it. May have been a one day thing on a very hot and humid day. If the boys are sports minded, BW has ESPN club, a fun dining option and the portions are huge for big eating teens!

We love the boardwalk and have stayed at the beach club too.
The boardwalk always has night time entertainment so there is always something to do and the rooms are nice. If you can splurge for a boardwalk view, it's great to sit out on the balcony and people watch. You can also see the fireworks from some balconies. We love the pool area but don't like how there is no quick service location here. Jellyrolls is a fun time for the adults in the group.
We haven't stayed at the beach club in a while but have heard from friends who have recently gone that the rooms are in need of a refurb...not sure if that's true or not bc it's based solely on their opinion. However, I have heard it from more than one person. The pool area is great and there is a decent quick service location.
Have never stayed at the yacht club before so can't offer my opinion there! Good luck and let us know what you choose!

I have stayed at all three and each has it's benefits and drawbacks.

Yacht Club is my overall favorite. Beach Club and Yacht Club share all the same facilities so the experience at either resort is very similar.

The things that I prefer at the Yacht Club are-
    • More likely to get a full balcony
    • Decor/quietness of lobby
    • Decor of rooms

    Things both resorts share
    • Great pool complex- Stormalong Bay is excellent- Great slide, sand bottom, lazy river
    • Beach front
    • Good sit down dining options

    Benefits at Beach Club
    • Usually closer to Epcot but can vary based on room location
    • Quick serve is located at BC.

Downside to both resorts is the lack of quick serve options but the Captain's Grille is usually easy to get into with reservations and frequently without.

Boardwalk is located across the lake. Some of it's benefits include
    • Good pool with fun slide but creepy if you don't like clowns!
    • Live entertainment on the Boardwalk
    • Multiple Quick Serve/ Fast Food options- Boardwalk Bakery, Pizza Window, Boardwalk Stands
    • Lots of sit down options
    • Belle Vue Lounge is excellent and also sells continetal breakfast items in the morning
    • Pretty courtyards

Drawback- All quick serves other than the breakfast in the lounge require you to go outside.

I find the walk from all three resorts to Epcot to be comparable so I do not make that my deciding factor.

Have fun choosing. You will have a great time at any of them.

Having stayed at all 3, I agree with every single word! (Really nice summary of all 3 by the way!) YC overall for me too.

BC You can enjoy all the nighttime activities on the Boardwalk with a quick stroll around Crescent Bay.

Have stayed at all 3 and here's another agreement with the above summary except that I don't know that we have a favorite.

Would add that BC is closer to Cape May which is DH's favorite restaurant.

Walking back to YC from Epcot we HAD to stop in at Beaches and Cream every night for ice cream.

Also want to add a rave about the Pizza Window at BW.

I would go with the cheapest deal. We liked staying at each and would stay at any again.

Having only stayed at YC and BC, I can only give you comments on those. YC is the quieter of the two resorts with a more "adult" atmosphere, while BC is a more relaxed atmosphere. Since both share Stormalong Bay, the pool is not a factor. Depending on where you are at in BC, you could be very close to Epcot as well as the shops/dining options at the Boardwalk as well. When we stayed at the YC, we were able to view Illuminations from our balcony every night. If I had to choose right now between the two, I would choose to return to the YC.

We actually prefer the Boardwalk to the BC. I know the BC/YC pool is like a small waterpark, but the BW pool is fun too. We like the entertainment on the Boardwalk. We do the walk to DHS from the BW. Really, though, you can't lose with any one of these.

I'm sure they are all nice. I'm glad to hear all the love for YC as we will be staying there in June.
