I did Christmas - New Years in 1992, and Thanksgiving in 1994.

No doubt, Christmas - New Years is more crowded. The levels are insane. I will never do it again.

    Thanksgiving was crowded, but manageable.

This was 20 years ago, and might be different now.

And about 40 more in between....

WDW never shuts down a park due to capacity during Thanksgiving. It's going to crowded, but not insane like it would be Dec 25 thourgh Jan 1.

We have done both in recent years and the week between Christmas and New Years is by far way more crowded than Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is crowded but manageable. I loved doing NYE once at MK but I'm not sure I could do those crowds again. I am glad I did it once. I would however go thanksgiving week again!
