Right now my one year old son is in his cochlear implant surgery. He was born profoundly deaf and this is his first step into a whole new world. Please keep him in your thoughts. I am a music teacher and can't wait to take him to disney to celebrate with our first family trip. To me the music is such a huge part of the experience and I can't wait for him to hear it. ( along with an I love you from his mom.) thanks everybody!

We had family friends go through this with their son almost ten years ago now. The transformation (he was almost 5 at the point of surgery) was amazing. Wishing you many happy (and musical) years ahead!

There is a little girl in our church who just had this done! She is so cute! Now she is learning to talk; she says, "more" when she wants another donut from the table that I take care of...but she drawls it out like a good southern belle...moooooore.

So very true - for me, music is such a huge part of life in general! What a wonderful new world it will be for him - especially when he can hear you say "I love you" !!!
