Default Characters in Streets of America

So I hear when there is going to be a Fantasmic you can find an unannounced set of characters that afternoon in the Streets of America. Anyone come across this? Sounds fun!

I think the characters in Streets of America have been showing up for a few months now, but haven't heard about it coinciding with Fantasmic!. That's interesting.

Not sure why they haven't had characters out there before. It's so dead at some times of the day.

This isn't anything new- it's been going on for awhile (it's affectionally known online as "characterpalooza"). The characters range from everyday to quite uncommon. I've met characters including Minnie, Goofy, Pocahontas, Meeko, Snow Queen, Jafar, Gepetto and Pinocchio, ect. The times they come out depend on the show times for Fantasmic

I got to experience this last week in the Streets of America. We were walking through and saw Mary Poppins, Captain Hook, Chip, and a few Toy Soldiers. Chip ran up to my brother (who is 17) took him over near the "library" building and did a magic trick making tissues "disappear" by throwing them over my brother's head, then having him pick which hand the tissue ball was in. It was such a random, cool experience! After that we were taking pictures of Captain Hook when I noticed that a toy soldier was just pacing right behind us, soon after my brother turned around and the toy soldier snuck up right behind my brother so they were pretty much face to face, it was really funny to see this interaction!

From what I've read and seen, it is less a meet n' greet but more of a character walkabout. You may be able to get a picture with them but they are mobile and on the move thus making autographs difficult. There are no formal lines. Perhaps this is not the case all of the time, but it is based on the videos I've watched of it.

We went on Sunday. There were five random characters and we were able to see them all and get photos in about ten minutes. They did autographs for those that wanted them. (One enterprising family had made a photo book from a previous visit and was using that to get the autographs by each characters picture.)

Our characters were Jasmine, Belle in blue dress, Queen of Hearts, Tigger and Pocahontas.
