    Default Disney Cartoons In Room

Nine or so years ago, we stayed at the POR. I remember the rooms had classic Disney Cartoons looping on 1 channel of the television. We have not returned to POR since that time and my family missed this perk as we stayed at other resorts. In November, we will be back at the POR. We have adopted another child and we now are a family of 5. Does anyone know if these cartoons are still available in your rooms at POR?

I don't remember if they run on a loop on it's own channel, but I know my kids were watching some older Disney cartoons in our rooms on our last few trips.

That old Disney cartoon channel that was so beloved has been done away with. I have no clue why since so many people loved it, but you can't find it anymore on the resort TVs. You still get the Disney channel and can watch Disney cartoons that way (when they're on), but not what you're talking about. We really miss that channel.

They no longer play the cartoons in the ROOMS, however you can still watch them from a designated area in the lobby of the resort. All the resorts have a "spot" for this. If you are staying at POFQ it is right by the front desk.

My DD rates the resorts by how nice the cartoon "hub" is.

Too bad. We loved that the last time that we were there.

Just asked my kids. They claim there was a channel at Wilderness Lodge that played old Disney cartoons over and over without any commercials when we were there in Feb. I knew I recalled seeing old cartoons playing on the TV a lot while we were there. My youngest says he thinks it was on channel 38, and in the evenings the old cartoons would stop and Duffy' s bedtime stories would play. Both of my kids said they don't remember if they saw these on previous trips, but there are positive about it at WL this past Feb.

At the value resorts it was channel 96...back when they still offered it. I have a list of the shorts for one variation they offered. This one we saw most often in our travels.

    Plutopia
    Mickey's Fire Brigade
    How to Ride a Horse
Sing Along Songs (9 in all)
    Pluto's Fledgeling
    Donald's Camera
    Timon & Pumba-Stand by Me
    Pluto's Housewarming
    Mickey's Trailer
    Contrary Condor
    Pluto and the Armadillo
    Steamboat Willie
    How to Play Football
    Working for Peanuts

Briefly, they offered alternate shorts. During our time of traveling frequently since 2004, the list I provided was the one we most often watched.

For my family, this was the epitome of what resort television should be. It solidified our complete submersion in the Disney experience. I miss them SO much!

This has been discussed often on the boards. From what I understand, once they placed a digital TV in a room, channel 96 was no longer an option in that room. If the channel number has changed, I would LOVE to have that information.

Okay, maybe I'm crazy, but when we stayed at AoA in January, I SWEAR there was a channel playing the old cartoons. I swear! Because I searched for it to watch and I did eventually find it...but I think it was one of the higher channels. Call me crazy, but I really do think that channel still exists. MAYBE (and I'm not 100%) but I think it was the channel that has the bedtime stories (about Duffy isn't it) and then it was the classic cartoons the rest of the time. I dunno...maybe someone who is there can clarify but that's what I remember.

We did the Disney Dream cruise right before our WDW visit and there was a channel on the ship as well that was playing the classic stuff too.

I was just at the POP at the end of May and watched the shortened oldie cartoons while waiting on my sister to get ready. They seemed to be the same ones over and over again, day after day. But I still sat and watched.

There was a channel playing old cartoons when we stayed at ASMovies this past Feb. I didn't pay attention to what channel it was though.

Yes, Wilderness Lodge has the nicest "hub" we've found to date! It's in a little area by the front desk in the lobby...kinda off by itself. What they are actually playing is the old Sing a Long Songs video. You know: "Oh a cowboy needs a horse, needs a horse, needs a horse...."

Kidani had the channel running during our trip in March of this year. In the evenings its had Storytime with Duffy from 6-10pm I think. They were the old cartoons, but I think they were the shortened "have a laugh" versions. That's the only channel my youngest son would watching during that trip when we were in the room.
