It's a wonderful movie. Re-bought it on blu ray a couple of months ago.

Love this movie! Watching it near Christmas is the best. I keep trying to find a movie like it, but no such luck. "Four Weddings and A Funeral" is close, but Love is much better.

Another big fan. DH and I try to watch around Christmastime too. DD, age 16, wants to watch it but I can't fathom allowing her to watch the "stand-in" scenes if you know what I mean.

I love Laura Linney's storyline. Breaks my heart and I want to yell at the movie ... "DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!"

So true! This movie really has it all. I find the Laura Linney and Emma Thompson storylines just heartbreaking. But then you've got the really light, funny storylines with the stand-in couple, and "I'm going to America" Colin, and then the sweet, in-between love stories.

I even enjoyed the over the top Billy Mack!

You might want to try Target for a family friendly version. Back in the days of video they would only sell edited versions of movies for these types of scenes. Not knowing this I once got a copy of a movie that they had edited that lost a lot of the edge of the storyline because of it.

Forgot about Colin! So hysterically funny, especially if you live near Milwaukee.

Trivia: One of the girls is January Jones of Mad Men.

Really? I'll have to check into that. I know they sometimes show the movie on TNT or one of those cable channels and they edit the shots so you can't see anything (you still sort of know what's going on). Yeah, you wouldn't know much about that couple at the end if you didn't see the other scenes.

I love this movie too! There's a lot of great scenes but my favorite is when the Prime Minister is knocking on doors looking for his assistant and the little girls ask him if he's going to sing them carols. "Please, sir, please!" in a little British accent..so cute! My favorite couple is the stand in/"Just Judy" one.

I have loved reading all the responses to this thread. It is my favorite Hugh movie too, and he is not my favorite.

My dh is Scottish and actually shared a lighter with Colin Firth when both were at a concert (bad!) And he sometimes jokes the only reason I'm with him is because he met him in person. Lol. I love Colin!!!!!!

I love Natalie. I can be just as awkward as her so i think i relate to her the most. She's just beautiful to me.
