Is there a dining plan type deal with this? Maybe something like, you get 1 food and 1 drink option in each country all for a certain fee? I will be missing this by a couples this year but maybe next your I'll hit it.

You can use snack credits from the DDP at the booths if you like. That's it.

    DESSERTS & CHAMPAGNE[
Dark Chocolate Mousse with Chili and Salted Caramel

What is the approximate cost for the food/dessert items? Are they just sample size portions? The cheese soup and the cheese fondue with sourdough bread sound really good. I think hubby will like the belgium waffle.

I don't remember exactly but I think they ranged from $3-$8 with $5-6 being average. They are sample sizes but some are bigger than others. For example last year the seared scallop from New Zealand is basically 1 big scallop on a small salad, but the strudel from Germany was a regular portion.

For me, it took about 3 items to equal a meal.

Yes indeed! My curiosity got the best of me and this is what I found.

    From Wikipedia
There are many theories as to how the dish was named. One of the more popular ones is a story about a man whose family was coming to his home for dinner. Being very poor, the man could not buy them enough food when they came. To remedy his situation, he went to his closet, gathered some old clothes (ropa vieja) and imbued them with his love. When he cooked the clothes, his love for his family turned them into a wonderful beef stew.

But the dish is delicious! Like Arroz Con Pollo, Spain and each Spanish speaking country make it with some different seasonings, but it still beef slow cooked with a tomato based sauce. It is very popular in Cuban restaurants. You basically need a day to make it as some of my family (I'm half Spanish) have made it.

    Ropa Vieja is fantastic

as someone said above, the portion sizes are all over the place, from tiny to huge. You can just mull about by the booth and see what everyone is getting, then decided if it looks good/is a good value.
Last year I decided to try something from Italy, because i had never bothered to. I had the ravioli and it was huge, the size of a stoufer's lasagna, and quite tasty too, if not all that adventurous
