I've heard from friends the lines can still be 20 minute waits, so yes...

If you can still do it, the best way to get butter beer is by going inside the Tavern to the bar and ordering it there. The outside lines in the center of the wizarding world are always longest.

I've heard good things about this butterbeer stuff. Last time I went to Universal Hogwarts was still in construction. What is butterbeer? Do they make a kids version? Sorry Im not caught up with the whole Universal scene. Only stayed are the Hard Rock 2 times in the last 10 years.

It is a non-alcoholic drink that tastes like creamy butterscotch.

    It's good. Try it.

My son and I got our Butterbeer at 3 Broomsticks, with our lunch. For what it's worth, I much preferred his carbonated version to my frozen one. The frozen one tasted overly sweet to me.

I agree! We got one of each. We threw out the frozen one. No one wanted it.

Just wanted to add, we got it in the souvenir mug and we were able to use it for cheaper refills throughout the parks.

What!!!! You threw it out. They should have thrown you in Azkaban.

Seriously, our family likes the frozen better.

I got some with no wait at the stand, but it was close to closing time (during winter break, though).

Yes,, yes it is... I finally tried my DW's for the first time. Clearly people will wait in line for anything. Examples: Butterbeer, Atlantis, and Stitches Escape.

Thanks alot for this. Since Im not the type of person to leave WDW property, this will at least give me an idea. (Even though some people in my family are discussing a day trip to Universal... bah... how dare they!)

We definitely prefer frozen! But, on the whole, I prefer a lot of drinks "frozen." Margaritas, for example

We were there two weeks ago on saturday. Yes, there was wait of maybe 10-15 minutes. I loved, LOVED the frozen Butterbeer. I was expecting it to be too sweet for my taste...but I was so pleasantly surprised! Yum!

Love butter beer and it's a must do when you go to universal. We were there in December and the park was busy but there was only about 4 people ahead of us.
The first time we went to Harry potter was September 2010. I had to have the butter beer and paid $11 for a commemorative cup (plastic lol) and the frozen version. Delicious. Like a root beer/cream soda/butterscotch taste. Loved it. Still do.

6 days my friends, 6 days.

We just got back and while there were lines for Butterbeer, we did not wait in them. Tip: don't stop at the first stand nearest the train, move further in, there will be a second stand that IMO doesn't get as crowded.

Also, it may have helped that we were moving OUT of WWOHP just as everyone was coming IN, and because everyone was more interested in getting into the lines for Forbidden Journey, the wand show and Dueling Dragons, we lucked out in our quest for Butterbeer (thank you, on-site perks!)

I haven't noticed the lines to be too bad lately. Our favorite is the frozen. Mmmmmmm! It's worth the drive down I-4 just for that!

We get our butterbeer, our fizzing whiz-bees (now there's a thread all on its own! Have y'all TRIED these!?) , and a pretzel from the cart across from Ollivander's wand shop and we go sit behind the 3 Broomsticks and stare at Hogwarts, soaking up the atmosphere & the HP movie soundtrack music! We can easily sit there for an hour or more!

John, I must try that recipe!!! Thanks!
