May vs. December
No, this is not about unique marriages.
For our vacation we can either go during early December (really right after Thanksgiving weekend) or early May. I've read the crowd and weather estimate stickies, but just wanted a personal opinion.
Which time of the year would you choose?

I would choose December as it is not quite as hot as May can be. You also have the Christmas decorations and other festivities that are unique to that time of year. We went in early Dec one year and loved it. Have a great time whatever you choose.

I really like the beginning of December. Disneyland is so beautiful with all of the festive decorations, the ice crystals on the castle, the holiday versions of some attractions, and the snow falling on Main Street. I love the Christmas Fantasy Parade too. DCA has not typically been as decorative but I'm guessing that perhaps Cars Land may change that. DTD and the Resort hotels are always decked out for the holidays as well.
May is nice. I have been there when it is practically empty, with kids finishing up the school year and families saving their vacation time for the summer months. I have also found some excellent hotel deals during the month of May. But I have also been there when end of the year cheerleading camps are present and Grad Night pulls in teenagers. Sometimes you run the risk of finding a larger percentage of attractions under refurbishment prior to the summer crowds.

I've been both times of year, and I would choose May. December is great, and yes, the heat & humidity are likely to be more manageable than in May, but I love the Flower & Garden Festival. Plus, we like to do a park one day, then pool the next, then park, then pool, so swimming and recreation are key for us. When I've been in December the pools were just a bit chilly for me, even though they are heated.

Have been both times of the year. I think December is beautiful with all the decorations, but like the weather better in May.
Have fun no matter what time of year you pick

Disneyland Resort does not have a Flower & Garden Festival so this would not be part of the equation. There has been a Food & Wine Festival (I think it was during Spring), but it has not been around for a few years with all of the construction at DCA. Have not heard if it will be returning.

Sorry - I read these posts in Google Reader and then click to respond. I didn't even realize that this was posted in the Disneyland forum. I need to double check next time I post!
