My asthma can be set off by cold/dry air too. The altitude will may you breath much faster. You may have difficulty noticing when you are getting some asthma changes, so pay much more attention. The altitude itself did not seem to affect my asthma, but having 2 different problems will slow you down.
1. Plan on sitting frequently to catch up on breathing.
2. Discuss your albuterol usage with the Doctor before you go. I Had to use it every few hours when it was cold.
3. Have your travel mates help you notice if you are coughing/wheezing and need to use the inhalor.
4. We went in early June, it was great.
Best wishes for your trip.
