I LOVE that brown leather bag with Tink! That is right up my ally and my style. It's actually the first Disney DB I've gotten excited about. It's odd to me that my two passions are Disney and DB and I've not gone crazy yet over this merger. But that bag may be the defining moment for me.

They are having a party 9for lack of a better word) at Tren-D on 7/14/12. The video clip they show ont he blog does show the backpack. I'd be interested in that, but I forget which pattern it was. Might have been buttons and I wasn't crazy about that one. Hopefully they will use that style again (backpack).

Daisy's Mom, I had bought the barrel you mentioned but ended up taking it back because it was too small. I cary around a wallet and 2 pairs of glasses, plus a smartphone and some little things such as keys, gum, etc. What I couldn't get in was my wallet. so back it went. The black balloon barrell is perfect; a bit larger than the mini barrell you mentioned. What I laved about the mini barrell was the "organization" in side. My balloon barrell has a zipper pocket plus two pockets on the opposite side of the liner. I want to say the minim barrel had that plus another packet, but I returned it in February (we have a 30 day return policy and I bought it in January). I hope your hubby gets the hint!
I think the backpack was sketch which I would love because I at first bought the sketch purse but the handle was wonky so I sent it back, I have the black barrel bag with the balloons on it!! Its soo amazing! I also have the aniversary messenger bag thats delightful! I've been really wanting a backpack purse for awhile anyways so I think I'm going to try to wait it out and hope that bag is out by October when we go! ^.^

After I had posted that comment, I went back later int he day to look at the video and noticed it was the sketch. I have a sketch tote from 2009 but never used it. It was an impule buy, still sitting in the bag. I think it is a little too big. The black balloon barrell is perfect. The new mini-comic barrell has an extra pocket that I loved, it was just too small for all my stuff.

I saw photos of the DLP retro print and would love to have one of theirs. I sent a message to a friend of mine int he UK that goes to DLP a couple of times a year to see if they have mail order. They give us CMs a smaller discount over there, but I might be willing to go for it if I can. The only problem is the messager is just a smidge too small for me. I am using the 40th anniversary one today and all my stuff just fits.

I really wanted the brown messenger bag but none were to be found last week. They did have the wristlet but the IMO the price of this pattern is high. Until now, all the wristlets have been $49 or so, the new button design wristlet is $65 and the brown sketch wristlet is $89. May be getting a bit to expensive for a fun item.

I will look for the messenger bag again in August but depending on the price, may have to reconsider.

Dooney and Bourke has a trade-in program if you decide you no longer want to keep that bag. Basically, they'll credit you with half the original value regardless of the condition of the bag. You then must spend your credit within 30 days and you must apply it to something twice the amount of your credit, that's not on sale. Apart from the caveats, it's decent of them to make the allowance. Additionally, this all takes place through the mail using their online website from which you choose your new selection.

I absolutely LOVE many of the D&B Disney styles, especially the retro ones released today, but I am so ridiculously hard on my purses, that I can never justify spending that much money on myself for a purse. Luckily, I do have some people in my life who like to spoil me a bit for my birthday and Christmas... I'm really thinking I need to ask for one this year!

I got an email from Disney shopping introducing the new arrivals so I went over to look. They do have some of the new ones listed but what I found most interesting is that they have raised the prices on all the old styles they offer to match the new ones. Unless they had to get all new inventory on the older ones, that's just not right.

Can't wait to see all the new styles of D/B purses when I go to Disney in October. I have one but I would love to have another one.

Doesn't surprise me. Prices at the parks have been going up on items - we carry something that when we got it in last fall sold for $24.99. It is now $39.95.

Has anyone been recently that can tell me if the D&B backpack is anywhere in the parks? It was supposed to be for the 7/14 release of the nylon bags but didn't make it. Any update?

As someone who has destroyed many a purse, do yourself a favor and invest in a Dooney. I have had Coach & Fossil purses and NEITHER held up as well as my Dooneys have. I will never, ever buy any other brand of purse. They absolutely wear like iron...in fact, even after daily abuse, they still look like new after 2 years....and that's even the light colored designs! If they do get dirty, I just take a damp paper towel and wipe them off. Also, I ALWAYS have problems with the straps. I can't tell you how many I've broken. But again, the straps on all my Dooneys haven't shown any wear in 2 years. Yes, they are expensive...but when you spend $50 three to four times a year because your purses get destroyed, it's worth it (to me) to fork over the higher prices and get something that I know will last. I was truly a skeptic and couldn't imagine spending over $200 on a purse...I'm so glad my DH insisted I buy one on our anniversary trip!

Did you see the backpack got posted on the Disney site? I'm going to wait till I go down in Oct to see if its heavy or not, thats the only issue I have with my Dooney's is the weight, but I really like that design!!

Good one. Yes, in a way it is! It's a show & tell too, and some people sell their bags. I bought 1 bag on a whim in 2009, then I bought the black baloon satchel in 2010, then I got the 55th DL bucket and 40th WDW messenger last year. Last month I bit the bullet and bought the DLP satchel via their mail order. I haven't gotten my Capital One bill yet to see what it cost in actual dollars (It was 267 euros after my reduced discount plus shipping via DHL).

The Satchel is definately my favorite style. I'd buy the bucket style again - it is slightly bigger than the Coach bucket (I have one of those as well). I like the retro prints, but not so fond of the tassles on those totes. The messenger bag is just a little too small for me. I am thinking of asking my family for some Disney gift cards for Christmas so I can pick up the sketch backpack at Christmas when we get out extra discount....

I finally got my backpack this week and love it .

I really don't think it's much heavier than my 40th Anniversary crossbody bag, most probably because of the material. Lots of space inside and great pockets - one zipper inside, one outside, a snap lock pocket inside and a few open pockets too. It also has a keyhook. The only place that had them was TrenD.
