Default Marriner Aniversary Trip Day 1 Part 1

    Hey gang!
    Cast.
    Me: Jim
    DW: Angie
    Unwelcome guest: Murphy’s Law
    Resort: Port Orleans Riverside
Well the day finally came and passed. We went on our 5th wedding anniversary trip. All in all it was a great time but there were some funny hiccups along the way. So lets go ahead and get into it shall we?
    Day one
Let me go ahead and get it out of the way now. I am a moron, an Idiot, and a fool. If it could go wrong for me it did. I thought I was being smart and savvy traveler by wearing my slip on shoes and packing my walking shoes in our check baggage. This would have been fine really if we were picking up our bags ourselves instead of using the Magical express. But I never even considered it truthfully. I wear these slip on shoes all the time to go to the store or run errands. It never crossed my mind that they wouldn’t be a good idea to wear them in the parks.
Anyways. We have an uneventful flight from Indianapolis to Orlando. Found the Magical Express area without any difficulty. We boarded the bus and were pleasantly surprised that we were the first stop. Once we arrived at POR we had an amazingly fast check in thanks to the online check in feature. I really expected to not be able to get into our room until we came back from EPCOT that night. However we got our room keys and decided to take the very short walk over and look at the room.
Let me say this about the Royal Rooms. They are very nice. Yes they are supposed to be Princess rooms but they are not overly so. The colors were deep reds and yellows and it did not come across as overly feminine. So if you have boys, you don’t have to worry about them being afraid of catching girl cooties.
We took a few moments to check out the room and look for hidden Mickeys and such. I turned on the TV and watched one loop of Stacy talking about the “Must Dos”. I had heard about this overly excited host on here for years and I wanted to see her for myself. She is nice enough but she gets old really fast. I turned the TV off and asked DW if she was ready to get over to EPCOT and start our awesome kid less trip? She asked me if I was really going to wear those shoes into the parks. Of course, I say, they are comfortable enough. She mentions that those shoes are probably going to hurt my feet but I protest that I am going to be just fine, don’t worry. It was here that things started their downward spiral to be honest.

Ugh! The wrong shoes is not the best way to start your trip.

I'm glad the royal room worked out well. I'm curious to see them.

Oh no! Starting off with the wrong shoes can really mess up some plans. I hope it didn't cause too many problems.

I couldn't have said it better myself! She is a sweet looking gal, but but she does get old fast. That being said, I still find myself watching the loop at least once (usually twice) while others get ready to leave the room. I love seeing all the rides that I'm about to hop on!
