What do you like better, Spectromagic Parade or Main Street Electrical Parade?

Which parade do you like better, the Spectromagic Parade or Main Street Electrical Parade?

Spectromagic was my ALL TIME FAVORITE part of going to the Magic Kingdom. Our upcoming trip in June will be the first trip there since they have replaced Spectromagic with the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Please tell me what you like about each parade and which one you think is better.

I've seen both parades many times. The Main Street Electrical Parade is by far my favorite of the two. I like the MSEP music and floats. Spectro seems very slow to me.

I prefer Spectromagic. I find that the floats are more colorful & the parade seems longer to me as well.

Love them both but the electrical parade was what we saw our first trip and I have a soft spot for it!

I like SpectroMagic better. I love the music and I just enjoy the parade more.

Another vote for SpectroMagic as my preference. But I like MSEP, too.

we like both parades but I love the music from MSEP. I even use it as my ringtone for my Droid.

I like MSEP because it to me, is was the first nighttime parade. It was the one I remember from my first trip to Disney, it has the music which I love (and drives my mom nuts), it is classic.

I like Spectromagic because I feel like it epitomizes the idea of "plussing"- it took everything MSEP had and improved upon it. Lighting/effects/musical score are all awesome.

If I had to pick one though....

... I'd have to go with Spectro. I still get choked up hearing the musical score for that parade. Well-written, seamless transitions from float to float, style to style, plus the different melodic/harmonic lines (like the kids singing towards the end) that accompany each other so well....It's awesome! \musical geeky talk

For me, it all flows so well between the music and the smoothness of the lighting effects that it feels like one great, big moving show instead of individual floats/displays. Love Spectro!

I like both of them but there is just something about the music from MSELP that I love. Puts a smile on my face when I hear it. And since it's my ring tone also on my cell, I can hear it whenever I want.

I like both, but Main Street Electrical Parade has the edge because I loved it as a child and still do. I'm glad it's back in WDW. It wasn't the same seeing it in DL California Adventure.

Ok stupid question but what is the difference between the two?

I wonder if it has to do with which parade your first Disney memories are with. DH prefers MSE because he grew up with it. The rest of us favor Spectromagic because it is the first we saw.

Interesting theory if nothing else.

I grew up with MSEP but i prefer Spectro by far. The music is what really does it for me

I enjoy the floats of BOTH the parades, but...

...I prefer SpectroMagic for two reasons:

1) I like the theme of the white lights turning (magically) into color.

2) I find the musical score for SpectroMagic less repetitious than the Electrical Parade.

I prefer Spectromagic because I truly dislike the music used in the Main Street Electric Parade.
