Default Non-Disney song that takes you to the park?

back in the mid 70's i went to Magic Kingdom, back then Kiss was the most popular band around. I remember i had a small cassete player and had recorded Rock and Roll all night on it. but on our way to the park i played it over and over (i was 10, give me a break)....but when we got to the park we had fun and my mom and sister went back to the hotel and my dad said we'd catch a cab and we stayed behind and ran around the park at night, and my dad kept saying over and over "we're gonna rock and roll al night and party every day"......now when ever i hear that song it taked me back to that night and reminds me of being in the park.
does anyone else have a song, that is completey non-disney that takes them back to the park?

Mine would have to be Funkytown.
A few years back, my cousin and I were staying in the 70's section of Pop Century. We decided that every night when we were heading back to the hotel that we would play it on the radio from her iPod. Now every time I hear it I think of Pop Century.

    Anything by Off Kilter.

"A-Rovin." I'm into 19th century American/Irish/English/Sea Shanty type music and I remember hearing "A-Rovin" in the background music under the Columbia Harbour House between FantasyLand and Liberty Square ten or so years ago. I had to stay there and listen for a couple more songs. Since then I've heard many different similar songs in those loops, but that one was the first.

One time I sat next to the piano player at Casey's and requested about 10 songs from that era... he knew them all by ear. Except he didn't know who wrote "Swanee River." He said Steven Foster. (Let's see who gets that reference.)

Any song by KC and the Sunshine Band (yeah, I'm ) or Kool and the Gang.... They were the two bands that were playing when I went to Grad Nite my senior year in high school! What amazing memories, walking around MK (only park then) from 11 pm until 7 am with my friends listening to our favorite music up close and personal.

    Smile This Will Sound Strange...

    "Hold On" by Wilson-Phillips.

As some of you know, Martin Smith from the UK is a Disney fanatic & works for the BBC, so he has access to some great recording equipment & does the BEST Disney videos around.

He made one a few years ago about Disney transportation. The beginning of the video is a "driver's perspective" as you drive onto property, down World Drive, under the arch, and into the TTC parking lot. Throughout the whole drive "Hold On" is playing.

A week or so ago, I was in my car & that song came on the radio. I immediatly thought about that video & taking that route into WDW. It made me smile.

Any Aerosmith song...takes me back to sitting on the wall drinking a smoothie waiting for my siblings to get off the ride because I'm too chicken to go on...lol
Also Destiny's Child brings me back to my first trip to Florida in 2001...we bought the CD and played it in the car every day we drove to the parks.

Also, the Chicken Dance reminds me of my recent trip in August...we stayed at All Star Music and heard the chicken dance pretty much every day when we went in the pool!!

Ransam, I'm a life-long KISS fan! You just made me smile!

I'd have to say "American Honey" by Lady Antebellum. That song had just hit the airwaves when we took our last trip - we drove from Tennessee, down to Mobile, to St. Augustine, and a week to WDW and we heard that song ALOOOOOT. So now everytime I hear it I can see myself in the car, driving down I-75 watching for signs that WDW was near.

December, 1963 (Oh what a night) by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons was blaring at that huge club at the now dead Pleasure Island when I met a very handsome boy in the early
'90's. My friends and his friends spent the next 3 days hanging out at WDW- so much fun! What a night, indeed! I am transported there everytime I hear that song!

Johnny Cash reminds me of my first trip and riding from upstate SC to WDW. My dad and his country music along with my mother - singing and dad was deaf in one ear so he was a horrible singer!!!

Livin' On a Prayer - takes be back to 1987 and my HS band trip to Disney where we sang that one as we rode through the gates (after having our charter buses break down not once, twice, but four times on the drive down from upstate SC and many more on the drive back).

Sugar Ray's "Fly" because I remember dancing to it at The Beach Club at Pleasure Island.
"Are you an Tigger or an Eeyore?" - Randy Pausch

Been to WDW more times than I can count since 1972. Stayed at BLT, AKV, WLV, SSR, POP, CBR, CR, FW Cabins, all the All Stars and also off site. Been to DL 3 times, 4 cruises on the Magic and went on the Dream Inaugural Cruise.

Not quite sure if this counts as a non-disney song, but it's called "Flying" by James Newton Howard. It was used in an older Disney commercial. There is a place...

Another one is called "Spirit of the Season" from the Polar Express soundtrack. That song always reminds me of being there at Christmastime!
