Monorail changes for Magic Kingdom Extra Magic Hours begin today

I find it hard to digest that Disney doesn't want to make it very easy for people to get where they want to go - Whenever they want to go.

We will stay at BLT next April and I decided to drop all the $$ specifically b/c it was the only DVC on the monorail. I like the fact that wec can walk back/forth from MK - a big benefit at the end of the night or whenever traffic is high (and now, even a bigger benefit!!) but..

But, we like to "bar hop" a bit on some evenings - Cali Grill, Poly Bar, Citrico's, etc... and now, ggrrr....

They surely must have done a count to see how many people would likely be affected, and benchmarked how much they make in the last hour or two against how much it costs them to make it. I mean, if people know that monorail stops running at X time, they will make sure they are there on time and try to avoid the bus/ boat situation (as everyone here has mentioned)... will it stop everyone from buying their last minute items on the way out? probably not. So, guests spend as much as they otherwise would, we just spend it earlier - and save them an extra hour/so or operating costs.

I'm not sure I understand, I just sprung for a suprise upgrade for me and my Mom in October at the Poly. Our plan was to eat late dinner at Ohanna's and then monorail to EMH at MK after cause its open till 1am...does that mean we will have to take a bus now? That really doesn't seem worth the insane amount of $ I forked over for the upgrade...should I be panicking right now? The whole reason she's always wanted to stay at the Poly is because of the monorail and how we always marathon it like crazy folks...If this is no longer going to benefit late night EMH goers then I don't know if it is worth the money...Help me understand please?
