Just wondering if there is something special that we might be able to see/hear/find out about....

I'd bet it's due to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Those are typically 7pm-midnight.

Don't think so..There are MNSSHP nights on the 13th, 16th and 20th (while we are there)....

and the parks usually close at 7pm for MNSSHP....

With a 6pm close, my bet is that there is a private function happening that evening. I have attended a number of conventions at WDW in Sept/Oct which included a private party in the MK. Every time, these have started at 7pm, and the MK closed at 6 so they could empty the park completely.

Just a guess, but an educated one.

I need to get me a job where conventions take place at a privately-rented MK! DH went almost two years ago where Epcot was open only for conventioneers. I'm still jealous.
