Sillouettes...

My mother got one of me and my brother made, probably 25 years ago, and my grandmother still has it hanging in her home. Does anyone know if they still do this? I would love to get one of my kids for my mom when we go in August.

They do. I cant tell you exact locations, but I saw them being done in several different places.

We had them done last year on Main Street in MK. It did not take long at all maybe 5 minutes.

Yes they do. I had them done of my boys! as a pp mentioned it is quick. We had ours done on that walkway around the castle by liberty square I think they sell funnel cakes near there. They also have a couple kiosks in DTD.

She mailed WDW a letter about it and they had her send a side shot of each us. They sent us back two perfect silhouettes.

That is a cool story! I'm glad she got ones she was happy with.

I've even seen them being done at POFQ, not sure if other resorts do them as well.

at mk as you walk across the bridge into liberty square there is a booth to your left that does them.they also do the complete drawings there also. one day till disney!!

Just a little story about Disney silhouettes ...

Back in 2008 we went to Disneyland. On our way down Main Street, we noticed the silhouette shoppe. My mom had silhouettes of her and my dad that they had done years before at Epcot . I thought that as part of her Christmas present, I would get some done of my boys. Later that day, I called my mom and she said “You know, Jenn. I’ve been thinking. There is a silhouette artist right there on Main Street. Maybe you could get the boys done for me?”. My Mom was something else. She passed away in 2009, and I will always think of her when I see the silhouettes.

My silhouette was done in the 70's as were my parents. Mine is in a frame and my parents hangs on their wall. My mother is deceased now so it always makes me smile to see it. As each person in the family has visited they get one done. My nephew is to be married next month and in December when his fiance went with me we had one done to officially welcome her into our family. She was thrilled to have it done and be part of our tradition. My great niece (5) is to visit soon and we will have one done for her as well.

It's a nice rather inexpensive keepsake. I absolutely love them and they bring back the fondest of memories.

We got one done of DS in Disneyland and it came out so great. I had no idea they also had them in WDW, we will definitely continue the tradition, such a wonderful keepsake.

I just checked another website and they said it was $8 per person. But the post was about 2 years old so they might be a little bit more. They said they paid a little extra for the frame to go with it.

I saw them doing them in DTD last month but I don't remember exactly where.

38 days ,lucky you.we have to wait till october for our next trip.one week back from our 4 th of july trip and my dw is driving me crazy(not a long drive LOL ) to go again.we live only 5.5 hrs away so we'll probably sneak one more in.i actually love the countdown to our trips.
