    Default *Fort Wilderness Carriage Rides

I have a few questions about the carriage rides at Fort Wilderness. We will be at Disney World right before Christmas, and thought it would be fun to look at the decorations at the Fort Wilderness campsites. I have looked at the various tours, and can't figure out the difference between the regular carriage rides at $8.00 a person, and the holiday carriage rides which are $60.00 a group....

Another question I have is: If I book the $60 holiday carriage ride, can I book it to see the fireworks? I saw that there was a fireworks carriage ride, and it would be awesome to combine the two...

Finally, just to be sure: do the regular/holiday carriage rides take guests through the campsites? I saw the decorations of some of the trailers a few years ago, and they were amazing - I would love to see them again!

The $8.00 ones I believe you are talking about the hay rides. The regular carriage ride is I think 40 or $45.00. The $60.00 one is a sleigh ride and only runs at the holiday time. We did a haunted carriage ride in Oct. for $60.00 and it was pretty cool.

I'm not aware of any carriage rides that bring you through the camping loops. I've not done the holiday sleigh ride but have done the personal carriage rides a couple of times. Typically, the ride begins at Pioneer Hall, runs along by the stables and then down the dirt road that runs between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. It turns just before it hits the pavement outside Wilderness Lodge and goes back the way it came - no real sights along the way although we did see part of the fireworks on one occasion (through the trees). It's more a romantic thing to do rather than a sightseeing thing to do.
