20th aniversary of Typhoon Lagoon

My Disney wife and I were at TL in June of 1989 just a few weeks after it opened. At that time you could rent boggie boards and ride the wave. I remember I was riding in and just ran over a girl that popped up from underwater. Anyone else remember the boggie boards?

Although I don't remember them, that sounds like fun! I know my DD would have loved it, but I can imagine there were a few injuries.

I dont remember the boards. I do remember that there were fairly rigid inflatable rafts, that were gray and yellow that you could use to catch waves. Same problem though you could realy crash into someone. It was fun when i was 16 but now at 36 it could realy hurt.
