Dec. 13, 1989 – The Disney film “Blaze,” starring Paul Newman, Lolita Davidovich, and Jerry Hardin, was released.
Dec. 13, 1996 – The Disney/Touchstone film “The Preacher’s Wife” was released.
Dec. 13, 1998 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Murder She Purred: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery.”
Dec. 13, 2002 – The Disney/Touchstone Pictures film “The Hot Chick” was released.
Dec. 13, 2003 – Christian music performer Steven Curtis Chapman narrated Epcot’s Candlelight Processional at WDW.
Dec. 13, 2004 – Nominations were announced for the 62nd annual Golden Globe Awards. The Disney/Pixar feature “The Incredibles” earned one for Best Motion Picture-Musical Comedy. It was also announced that Robin Williams (the voice of the Blue Genie in Disney’s 1992 Aladdin) will receive The Cecil B. DeMille Award.
Dec. 13, 2005 – “The Chronicles of Narnia” received Golden Globe nominations for Motion Picture – Best Original Score and Best original Song. The 63rd annual Golden Globe Award (given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association) would be presented in Jan. 2006.
Dec. 13, 2005 – A special exhibit of more than 50 of Walt Disney’s original WWII insignia designs had its debut at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (six miles northeast of downtown Dayton, Oh.)
Dec. 13, 2005 – “Kronk’s New Groove,” a direct-to-video sequel to the 2000 animated “The Emperor’s New Groove,” was released. (This is veteran voice actor John Fieldler’s last film – as he has passed away in June 2005.
Dec. 13, 2006 – Because Disney had a spectacular 2006, posting record revenues, record net income, and record cash flow, The Walt Disney Company was named SeekingAlpha’s Top Media Company of the Year.
